“The Generic Luchador” El Generico captivated the eyes of many during his time on the independent circuit throughout the 2000’s. El Generico’s rise to fame came in his time with Ring of Honor, where he wrestled from 2005 to 2012. In his time with ROH, Generico held the ROH World Tag Team Championship with Kevin Steen once in September 2008, and a single ROH Television Championship reign in June 2011. Generico’s bitter rivalry with once tag team partner, Kevin Steen, was voted Feud of the Year in 2010 by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. El Generico departed ROH at the end of 2012, where he signed with WWE, under the new ring name Sami Zayn.
