At one point, Nicole Matthews was one of Canada’s premier women’s wrestler’s as she made waves in BC-based promotion ECCW (Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling) and all-female promotion, Shimmer Women Athletes. As one half of the Canadian NINJAS, with fellow pioneer Canadian women’s wrestler Portia Perez, the team captured the Shimmer Tag Team Championship on two occasions. Matthews also held the Shimmer Championship in October 2014, becoming the first Canadian to do so. Matthews’ most recent major endeavour saw her compete in the 2018 Mae Young Classic for WWE.
