“Hangman” Adam Page (c) vs. CM Punk – AEW World Championship Match

Matthew Byer The title reign of “Hangman” Adam Page has been poor and fairly uninteresting.  The smart play would be for CM Punk to win the AEW World Championship, but Tony Khan has shown some stubbornness when it comes to taking the title off Page.  Consequently look for Page to retain and this dull championship reign to continue. John Powell I feel really bad for Hangman. He is a decent guy and has worked really hard over the years for this spot. Unfortunately, his reign has been pretty lackluster except for a few of the death matches he has had and that match with Danielson. AEW needs to use this show as a way for them to get back on track as they have been floundering recently, like taking Danielson and making him a tag team wrestler. CM Punk
Bob Kapur Adam Page’s title win came long after he was the company’s hottest commodity, and his reign has only cooled him down further. CM Punk is on fire right now. They may be tempted to try to transfer some of that to Page by having him beat Punk. But I think that would be a case of too little too late. They should do the smart thing: strike while the iron is hot, and put the title on Punk CM Punk

The Hardys vs. The Young Bucks

Matthew Byer When Jeff Hardy joined AEW there was all sorts of intrigue regarding this matchup against The Young Bucks.  Yet since that point the booking for both of The Hardys has been extremely poor.  As a result a matchup that should have been one to really look forward to is instead lacking a lot of excitement.  As for who wins it will likely be The Young Bucks with the victory which will further hurt The Hardys going forward. Bob Kapur I make it a rule to to change the channel whenever the Young Bucks are on, and nothing about the Hardys, at this stage of their careers, is compelling enough for me to break that rule.

They bring in Jeff Hardy, give away a bunch of his matches – including some with crazy spots – for free, and now put him in this mess of a match? This is why people don’t deserve to have good things.

Matthew Byer  Just a few months ago Bryan Danielson was one of the most compelling heels in AEW.  Since he joined the Blackpool Combat Club sadly that is no longer the case.  Now he along with the rest of the Blackpool Combat Club are stuck in this uninteresting feud with the Jericho Appreciation Club.  Even though it should be the BlackPool Combat Club, Kingston, and Ortiz winning, instead it will be a triumphant for Jericho. The whole ‘superstar versus wrestler’ thing is interesting but to make it a Jericho fan club is utter stupidity and so absurd. 2point0 or whatever they are calling themselves these days need to turn down their characters a few notches. Since winning the AEW Women’s Title Thunder Rosa’s championship reign has been lacking in real momentum.  The match with Serena Deeb won’t really change that, but the bout should be fairly good with Rosa retaining her title.

After building Hook up as a complete badass, throwing him in there with a comedy character has been a disservice, and I think he should actually turn on Danhausen during the match, take him out, and go back to doing his own thing.
