According to both Wrestling Inc and Fightful, Ric Flair has left the WWE.

It is being reported that a frustrated Flair spoke to Vince McMahon directly and asked for his release from the company and was granted it.

Flair’s dissatisfaction was apparently fueled by his disappointment with how he was being used and what angles he was a part of.

The 72-year-old wrestling legend hasn’t stepped in the ring since 2011 when he wrestled Sting in Impact Wrestling but in the WWE he has been part of several storylines with his daughter Charlotte and acting as a mentor or manager for such stars as Randy Orton and Lacey Evans. His last angle involving Evans was scrapped when she became pregnant in real-life and her match against Asuka at Elimination Chamber was nixed.

Flair’s departure coincides with the news that Bray Wyatt was released over the weekend.
