The WWE has handed Enzo Amore his pink slip only a day after allegations of sexual assault came to light.

In a brief statement today the WWE announced: “WWE has come to terms on the release of Eric Arndt (Enzo Amore).”

A Twitter user named “@missgucciwitch” (AKA: Philomena) has alleged Amore sexually assaulted her last year in a Phoenix hotel. Phoenix police have been investigating the case since last October.

According to the ABC Arizona, police responded to a local hospital on October 23rd, for a call of a sexual assault that occurred several days prior at the hotel.

Amore began his career in NXT in 2012 and for four years he competed in the tag team scene with his partner and real-life friend, Colin Cassady.

In 2016, Big Cass and Amore made the jump to the main roster, vying for but failing to win the tag team titles. Later, Cass attacked Amore backstage ending their partnership. They feuded until Big Cass was injured and Amore was then shipped off to 205 Live, the cruiserweight division while Cass rehabbed his knee.

At the time, rumours began to circulate about Amore being difficult to work with, the other talent having issues with him and Amore possibly being barred from the locker room and thrown off a tour bus.

Since he was the WWE Cruiserweight Champion upon his termination, the fate of the title is unknown at this time.
