Brace yourselves, the WWE has jumped back into the reality TV ring. Thank goodness this time it’s twin free. Streaming now on Hulu in the US and on Disney+ in Canada is Love & WWE: Bianca & Montez and it’s not that bad.

This show follows the superstar power couple of Bianca Belair and Montez Ford on their road to WrestleMania. Belair is a singles match winner, and a WWE Championship title holder and Montez is a WWE tag team champion. Since they are both winners, they take their sport very seriously. As with all the wrestling reality shows, one of the best parts is to see what goes on behind the scenes.

Going into this, I didn’t know much about Montez, but Bianca is just great. Her ponytail reminds me of Sindel from Mortal Kombat, one of my favorite characters from that video game. I’d love to see her flip somebody over with her ponytail. Maybe in season 2 they can get a CGI effects budget for that. Kidding, but all reality TV would benefit from some visual effects (take a hint, Hulu).

The B-EST married couple are the stars of the show. But all their matching outfits are the supporting stars of the show. I always looked forward to what they were wearing in each scene. There should be just one episode for a fashion show of all their paired stylings. You get a peek into a closet but that is it. Season 2 needs a closet tour, please. (Another hint, Hulu.)

This show really is about a modern-day fairytale love affair. Not like those outdated ones with the damsel in distress and the phony happy endings. But one about two people who help build each other up and create the life they have always wanted, while making their dreams come true along the way. Never thought reality TV would give us all a romance to admire, but here we are.

I love my reality TV, since it is normally filled with drama, but this show is different. There is no backstabbing, or unchecked narcissistic sabotage. Usually, I can find a few things to goof on with every show, but this is just a fun watch. This show is about a loving and supportive couple, who are honest with each other, surrounded by great family and friends. Sure, that could just be TV magic but that is some needed magic. You are rooting for them through all the episodes.

They are trying to find a good work and life balance. So, it does have all the typical struggles that go along with being a couple. Like family pressures to have a baby. Also, there is so much pressure to perform well with the WWE. WrestleMania is pretty much the biggest deal for them. And I won’t give away any spoilers, but there are a lot of surprises along the way.

Is this the world we live in now? Reality TV has become wholesome and inspiring and actual reality is a sloppy chaotic mess. Well, I guess that’s the way it is. Oh 2024, you’re so crazy. Only eight episodes, give it a watch. Better be a season 2, looking at you Hulu.
