Since Thom Latimer decided to cash in his NWA Television title for a chance at the Ten Pounds of Gold, that left a vacuum that many wrestlers sought to claim. The two left to challenge for the influential title are Big Strong Mims and “Outlandish” Zicky Dice. Dice held the title previously and Mims has been inches away from getting the strap.  Plus, AJ Cazana wants to regain the NWA US Tag Titles from Daisy Kill and Talos, but his former partner Anthony Andrews is no longer in the picture.  So what can the Country Gentleman do against those odds in the main event?

We’ll find out later tonight while we get a quick history of the NWA Television title:

And now let’s go to the Skyways Studios in Nashville, TN. Joe Galli and Danny Dealz have the call and our First Match of the night is for the…

NWA Television Title Tournament Finals: “Outlandish” Zicky Dice vs. Big Strong Mims

As soon as the bell rings, Dice is aggressive out the gate and goes right to Mims.  He whips him hard to corner and mounts Mims with punches.  But a series of clotheslines by Mims makes Dice scurry out of the squared circle for a breather, calling a timeout.  He starts to walk to the back and behind the curtain and Mims pulls him out because he wants that win.  Dice rams him into the steel ring post and Dice is outlandishly focused.  He goes for a slap and Mims ducks away as Dice hits his hand on the same post, and he proceeds to slam his head onto the ring apron.  Mims brings him back to the ring, and as he crosses the ropes, Dice kicks the ropes into his…err, little Mims and covers for a two count.

Then we get a series of waistlock switches, and Dice finally gets the upper hand with a cravat on his head and he connects with knees and a spinning neckbreaker for another two count.  Frustrated, Dice snapmares him and tries a headlock to wear him down, but Mims powers up with a head butt and a splash but runs into a fireman’s to a neckbreaker variation by Dice for another near fall.  Dice goes for a hanging neckbreaker and Mims escapes and gets the Big Slam for a count of two.  There are quick pins by Dice that yield no results but Mims rolls up Dice and he gets the three count, which means…

Your Winner, And New NWA World Television Champion:  Big Strong Mims

After chasing singles glory since the start of NWA Powerrr, Mims is finally getting the recognition he so richly deserves.  To that, I say, “Kudos” Mims.  You are at the start of something bigger!

Sam Leterna is backstage with EC3 and asks her thoughts on Kamille being in the corner of Thom Latimer ahead of their NWA Heavyweight title match at the Samhein PPV.  So let’s have the champ speak, shall we?

“I came to the NWA.  Came with a plan. I planned it like the invasion of Normandy. False flags, red herrings, diversions. Do you know the original plan for me in the NWA; what the office wanted?

They wanted me to work with their very capable, very handsome, very tall British wrestler. But that wasn’t you, Tom. That was not you, and I stood there and I wondered why. Why isn’t Thom Latimer on top?  Why isn’t Thom Latimer the face of any company he works for?

Thom, I’ve known you for so long from the days of FCW.  Hanging, banging, and clanging with Dusty Rhodes and Dr. Tom Pritchard. We are brothers, despite how we tend to treat each other. I came here with a purpose, Thom.  Yes, to become the NWA World’s Heavyweight champion; to become who I’m supposed to be. But through that, that purpose was to bring you up.  To take you to the next level, to make you confront the true demons you have inside. So you, too, can become who you’re supposed to be. But the demons…they’re not inside you, Thom.  The demon that possesses you lays next to you in bed every night. You sacrifice so much for her. I would dare say you almost got cuckolded, but she didn’t. Because you’re an alpha. I know it. You know? We are two alphas. We are two swinging D’s,  here to fight for the richest prize in this game; The NWA World’s Heavyweight Championship. Here’s the difference between you and me Thom.

You have a soulmate. You have love.  So do I.

But in life, you can only have one.

You chose her. (gesture to the Ten Pounds of Gold) I choose this.

Thus Spoke EC3.”

Not a bad way to sell the PPV, and we continue on with tag team action with…

The Southern Six (Kerry Morton and Alex Taylor, with Ricky Morton) vs. The Spectaculars (Rolando and Rush Freeman)

Early in the match, “The Biggest Brother” and Rush take it to the Southern member and it looks like their fortunes are starting to reverse, but Taylor interferes and then The Southern Six are in control.  They give a double slingshot suplex to Rush and he is in Spectacular Peril.  Taylor lays him out with the Green Whistle (Michinoku driver) for the pin and the win.

Your Winners via Pinfall:  Kerry Morton and Alex Taylor

The Southern Six dump Rush out of the ring unceremoniously and Rolando gets in his grill over the loss.

Kyle Davis is in the ring with Chris Silvio, Esq. and Blake “Bullet Proof” Troop meeting Jax Dane for an in-ring summit. Silvio has a lot on his mind after his loss to Dane last week, so let’s give him the floor:

“Allow me to clear this up. This man right here is definitely not a member of the SVGs.

For two years now, I’ve sang [sic] your praises from the mountaintop. I’ve told everyone who would listen that Jax Dane was the greatest heavyweight attraction in the world. I put food on your table. I put money in your bank, and if we’re gonna be real, Jax…all those times where you were down, feeling like you didn’t have enough that you couldn’t keep going? I was the one that reminded you who the hell you are.

You’re a wrecking machine. You’re Jax Dane.  I lifted you up when you needed it most. When your father was sick, who was the one that called you Jax? It was me. And Jax, after all that time I never had any idea in my wildest dreams you’d turn out to be such a coward.

Jax, it’s this simple; at NWA 75 you had Tim Storm lying in a heap motionless, and you just couldn’t for the life of you fire that single shot. That would have put him out of his misery and sent him back to the commentary table where he damn well belongs!

Yes, I said it.  That’s where he belongs.  You showed nothing but weakness at NWA 75 Jax Dane. But I’ve been real all day and I’ve been real since the day we met; you are a bad man. You’re one of the baddest men on the planet.

Am I right? Am I Lying?

With this man behind me (gesturing to Troop), known for dropping warheads on people’s foreheads; professional ass kicker “Bulletproof” Troop. He’s a bad man. So, Jax I understand you want a match with Troop. I understand that you have a point to prove after you let myself, your family, and the entire world down at [NWA] 75. So we’ll do it on our terms Jax.  You and Troop…not just any normal match.  Nah, that’s too easy. We’re going to do a submissions match. This man right here can snap limbs in two seconds. This man right here can put you out. This man right here will make you tap, snap, or nap, and Jax Dane, when you meet Troop you will do exactly that.”

Now for the rebuttal from The Dane Event:

“Let me remind you who the stud was in this group. Jax Dane is a former and future NWA World Heavyweight Champion.  Jax Dane is a former NWA National champion, a former North American champion, a former NWA World Tag Team Champion, the Smoky Mountain Cup, The Champion Series, and countless, countless NWA state titles. One might say that standing in this ring right now is the most decorated wrestler in the history of the National Wrestling Alliance. But I will tell you what Jax Dane is not.  You’re right, Jax Dane may not be a fancy submission fighter.  Jax Dane is also not the goof that took every pin in every championship opportunity that we had and when it comes to Tim Storm, don’t you ever mention his name again!

Tim Storm is one of my very best friends, and Jax Dane believes that sometimes it takes more strength to not put a man down when he has the opportunity. So you want to submissions match? You got a submissions match because Jax Dane is so madly excited to pop the trunk, to lock in Trap City, and to make “Bulletproof” Troop tap like the b**** he is!”

Well, that has my curiosity and my attention.

Leterna now has Vampiro and she inquires about next week’s Powerrr match with  Mecha Wolf and Yabo the Clown in singles action and whoever wins will pick the stipulation for the Samhain PPV.  Vamp is not happy about, nor is he happy that Violent J is trying to walk in his world.  He also responds to the Insane Clown Posse member jibe about his face paint, to which Vampiro replies he’s been “in the darkness” for a long time and what he does “is not a fashion statement and not a musical career” so he should be careful when taking about him.  As for what he plans if the La Rebelion member wins, he has an idea but he won’t spill the beans and warns him and anyone not to push his buttons.

Speaking of which, let’s head to ringside for…

Judais (with Father James Mitchell) vs. Sal The Pal

Quickness is not enough for Sal as Judais catches him and gives a fallaway slam and then clubs away in the corner.  He connects with a suplex slam to Sal and another.  Sal grabs his leg and Judais nails a third Suplex.  He follows with a corner splash and a big boot and toys with Sal further with a one-armed slam.  His choke slam is blocked as Sal fights out by biting his hand and runs the ropes for a dropkick to his leg.  He gets a running dropkick and has Judais hanging on the middle ropes.  He goes for a tiger feint kick that gets blocked, but Judais nails him with a choke slam to the apron edge.  Judais readies him for a crucifix bomb and Gaagz runs in for the save as the ref calls the bell, so that means…

Your Winner via Disqualification:  Judais

Judais tries to catch the masked man, but Gaagz hits the Gaagz Reflex on The Priest of Punishment as he pulls Sal to safety.

Leterna is joined by Rolando on another humiliating loss and he doesn’t like it. He’s heard Brady Pierce’s offer to join his side, but he still wants to stand by his brother.  So he decides that next week it’ll be Rush and Pierce will fight in a Loser Leaves Town match where he is the special referee and he’ll call it down the middle.

Is anyone else guessing how this match is gonna go?

At The Podium is Chris Adonis, and he lays out that he is the best performer in NWA. But when he sees “Thrillbilly” Silas Mason wearing the NWA National title disgracefully, he promises that “Sexy Jesus” will be a three-time NWA National champion.

Well, until that second coming (or is it third coming) happens, let’s go to the Main Event which is for the…

NWA US Tag Team Championship: Daisy Kill and Talos (c) vs. The Country Gentlemen (AJ Cazana and KC Cazana)

It appears that little brother KC will fill the spot.  So let’s see how he fares in action.

AJ starts against Kill but soon tags out.  Talos comes in and gives AJ a run for his money.  Kill comes back in but so does KC.  Kill gets a waistlock takedown, but the younger Cazana has some flashes of offense, and he and AJ keep him isolated in the corner.  AJ continues to fight but Kill pulls his hair and he gets the tag to Talos and works over the Country Gentleman.  They keep the Cazana in Peril until he football blocks him and gets the hot tag to KC who is a Cazana en Fuego.  The Country Gentlemen attempt a Hart Attack but Kill pulls AJ out of the ring, and KC gets singled out as Kill sends him to Talos for a choke slam that ends it in one, two, and three.

Your Winners, and Still NWA US Tag Team Champions:  Daisy Kill and Talos

It is a heartbreaking loss as the US champs celebrate, as the show goes to…

Wait a second!  The Immortals come out to get in their grill.  Kill and Talos stare them down and then we get this impromptu main event for the…

NWA US Tag Team Championship: Daisy Kill and Talos (c) vs. The Immortals (Odinson and Kratos)

As Kill protests, Odinson attacks with a running Asgardian uppercut and a hip attack, followed by a belly-to-belly suplex.  He tags in Kratos who whips him into the corner with a running forearm smash, and follows with his patented suplex across the ring.  Kill tag in Talos and Kratos tries to chop down the big man.  He gets him in a fireman’s carry, but Kill pulls down and there’s a flying uppercut by Odinson to Talos’ back.  Kill is alone and Kratos connects with a corner splash to a wheelbarrow suplex and gets sent outside.  Kill and Talos beat a hasty retreat as the ref declares…

Your Winners via Countout:  The Immortals

But Still your NWA US Tag Team Champions:  Daisy Kill and Talos

Kill and Talos keep the strap through chickens*** means as the show now goes to the credits.

3.5

Final Thoughts:

Other than the fact the Television title match should have been the main event, there was a lot to enjoy in this episode.  The Summit meeting with Silvio, Dane, and Troop was choice, and The Cazana boys making their debut as Country Gentlemen 2.0, but Odinson and Kratos wanting the titles is another awesome setup.

For now, see ya in seven!
