Canadian independent wrestling star, Jody Threat, has officially joined Impact Wrestling. During the Impact Sacrifice pay-per-view in Windsor, Ontario, it was announced that Threat was on her way to the promotion.

Threat has been very prominent on the Ontario indy scene since 2017 and has won a number of titles during her time in the business. She is a former Barrie Wrestling World Champion and Women’s Champion, a two-time Divine Pro Wrestling Champion, and a CLASH Women’s Champion. She currently holds the Winnipeg Pro Wrestling Women’s Championship and the Demand Lucha Openweight Champion.

On top of being popular in Ontario, Threat branched out to all of Canada, the U.S. and even did tours in the United Kingdom. Last August she also got the chance to appear on All Elite Wrestling.

She was featured on AEW Dark in a match against the current ROH Women’s Champion, Athena. Dark was being taped in Threat’s hometown of Toronto and she was extremely over with the crowd, and the match made headlines due to the way Athena viciously attacked her throughout the contest. Following the match Threat’s name was seen all over Twitter and the crowd chanted her name in the Coca-Cola Coliseum.

Threat now joins Impact, which features a lot of Canadians on their roster including their now former World Champion, Josh Alexander. He actually trained Threat at his Canadian Strong Style Wrestling Academy.

Impact Wrestling fans can now await the arrival of the “Wild Child” Jody Threat and she simply posted on Twitter “Hi @IMPACTWRESTLING.”
