Greetings and Salutations all! This week is the Go-Home edition of NXT TV before this Saturday’s Premium Live Event, NXT Deadline. We have two triple threat matches to determine the final competitor in both the men’s and women’s Iron Survivor Challenge Match. I also am assuming we will see some interaction between Apollo Crews and Bron Breakker to continue setting up their face-vs-face match on Saturday. Aside from those three matches, I think we will get the final card before the night is done. Without Further Ado, let’s get to it.

Triple Threat Iron Survivor Qualifying Match Axiom vs. Andre Chase vs. Von Wagner

Andre Chase got this match started right away as he went after Von Wagner with a Big Boot then unloaded a flurry of right hands. This didn’t deter Wagner for long as Wagner shrugged off the attack and eventually planted him then followed that up with a shoulder tackle. After a double headlock attempt, Wagner continued to show his strength but he couldn’t contain Chase and Axiom as they delivered a double suplex.

Chase and Axiom then turned the attention on each other as they brawl each other back and forth. Chase went for a roll up but Axiom got up. Axiom hit a few arm drags on Chase and then went to deliver a dropkick to Wagner. xiom hit Chase with a standing moonsault for a two count. Wagner gave Axiom a Military Press onto Chase.

Right from the break, Chase powerbombed Wagner off the top rope and gave Axium a superplex. Wagner and Chase go back and forth as Wagner’s strength is back on display as he dropkicked Chase and followed it up with a Russian Legsweep. Chase came back though as he hit the Chase U Boots. Axiom was back in the match as he hit Wagner with a Suicide Dive and went to the top to fly onto Chase but Chase kicks Axium and hit a Tiger Driver for a two-count.

Chase blocked  a Juji Gatame attempt. Wagner came into the ring and took a Sleeper Hold from Axiom. Axiom transitioned into a Kimura Lock. Wagner escaped the hold by power bombing Axiom on Chase. Wagner slammed Chase and got a two count. Chase gave Wagner and Axiom a front back DDT at the same time. Chase hit Wagner with High Fly Flow. Axiom flew in with the Golden Ratio Superkick while Chase was recovering at ringside to pick up the pinfall over Wagner.

Winner & Gets Into The Iron Survivor Challenge: Axiom

We head to a video hyping up Cora Jade ahead of the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge.

We go backstage and Diamond Mine is in the medical area. The doctor checks Julius Creed per Ivy Nile’s request much to the anger of Brutus. Brutus asks what she’s doing and she says she’s protecting her brother. The trainer feels his ribs and says they’re swollen. He then said that Julius is not cleared to wrestle.

After the break, we head gone fishin’ with Bron Breakker. The NXT Champion Bron Breakker was about to head out when Apollo Crews showed up and wanted one on one time with Bron before their match on Saturday at Deadline. Bron was teaching Apollo Crews how to fish. They compliment one another’s moonsaults and joke back and forth. Crews asks Breakker if fishing helps to take the pressure off being champion and Breakker says he finds peace. He says one loss could destroy everything he worked so hard for. Crews catches a fish and they both seemed happy. They then joke about sharing their strategies for Deadline. They shake hands and continue to fish.

Javier Bernal vs. Bryson Montana

Here is a nice quick match and a perfect return for D’Angelo Lock up to start the match and D’Angelo delivers a shoulder tackle, but Quinn fires back with several shoulders to D’Angelo’s midsection. D’Angelo delivers a clothesline, followed by a suplex. Quinn the attempts a comeback but it wasn’t enough after delivering a few right hands and a headbutt, then follows it up with a Samoan Drop. D’Angelo delivers a spinebuster, followed by the spinning fisherman suplex, which I will call the (What. no F*ck*n) Ziti Driver for the win.

Winner: Tony D’Angelo

After the match D’Angelo is on the mic talking abiut how good he isn in the ring. He said that while in rehabilitation he made some good new connections but he hasn’t forgotten about Wes Lee as he issues the challenge to Lee.

NXT North American Champion Wes Lee then comes out and is in the ring with D’Angelo and Stacks. Lee says that he knows everyone is eyeing his championship. Lee said that he is eyeing D’Angelo but he has unfinished business with Dijak. D’Angelo says he doesn’t care as he will need to deal with him before Dijak.

Dijak interrupts them on the tron. Dijak warns D’Angelo to stay out of his way. Dijak tells Lee to keep his name out of his mouth and tells them they can’t do anything to stop him from dominating NXT. In the ring, Stacks gets in Lee’s face and shoves him. Lee pushes him to the mat before D’Angelo charges at him. Lee rolls out of the ring and retreats.

Dempsey locks in the Kimura Lock, but Walker escapes by hitting a bodyslam. Both men are going back and forth until Dempsey delivers a gutwrench suplex, then focuses all of his attack on  Walker’s elbow.

Drew Gulak appears out of nowhere at ringside as he watches on. The match is still going on in the ring as Dempsey delivers a series of forearms and right hands to Walker. Walker tries to string together a comeback via elbows but Dempsey trips him and locks in a Single Leg Boston Crab Crossface combination  as Walker taps out.

Winner: Charlie Dempsey

We head to another video hyping up Zoey Stark before the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline.

Winner: Isla Dawn

After the match,  as Isla Dawn poses in the middle of the ring, the ring fills with smoke and where there is smoke there is FYRE. Alba Fyre appears and launches a surprise attack on Dawn. Referees work to separate both women before Dawn spits her poison mist into one of their faces.

The Waller Effect

Grayson Waller is joined by the participants in the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge. Grayson Waller hypes up the match and says they will all be linked together forever (Like Batman and Joker). He says he’s honored to share the ring with all of them, then introduces Axiom, Joe Gacy, Carmelo Hayes, & JD McDonagh all while mocking them respectively. We get questions on the Tron.

Question 1:What advantage do you have that will make you the 1st Iron Survivor? Waller answers first and says he knows how to survive because he was on Survivor. Hayes cuts him off and says there was a reason he was the first participant and given the vote of confidence from all of the Legends. Hayes says he never misses. McDonagh cuts him off and brings up the fact he lost the North American Title twice and tells him that he’s been protected since day one in WWE.

JD then says he can go through 25 minutes of hell because he has a bigger tank of gas than any other guy. Waller says he doesn’t need 25 minutes and Hayes says he’s never even gone 25 minutes (HA! sex joke). Gacy then answers the question and says when the stakes are high, people trample one another. Gacy continues saying his practices will allow him to see the field and act accordingly. Axiom says the Iron Survivor Challenge forces competitors to be innovate, which is his greatest advantage. Hayes calls him a nerd and everyone else seemingly agrees as Axiom is THE FACE of the match.

Waller pulls up another question: What position would you like to enter the match? Axiom says first or second to get the most amount of falls. Gacy says that also gives him the greatest chance to accumulate the most penalties. Axiom says he wants JD to enter second because he hasn’t forgotten that he sidelined him a few weeks ago. JD says he should be thanking him it was only weeks and not months and says he will put him in the hospital this time.

Gacy then says he wants to be 4th because he will take advantage of everyone else being fatigued and put them in the penalty box. Hayes says McDonagh & Gacy have both shot their shots while Waller & Axiom are shotting at the logos since they are not at his level. Waller looks angry now. Hayes again says he never misses, but Waller cuts him off and says he’s the favorite.

Things finally got juicy as JD headbutts Waller and everyone starts to brawl with one another. Axiom takes out Hayes with a dive over the top rope while Gacy & McDonagh knock one another out of the ring. Waller takes everyone out with BEAUTY Tope con Hilo with his phone still in his hand. Everyone keeps fighting as refs and suits come out to break them up as the show comes to a close.

NXT TV: December 6, 2022

This was a very entertaining episode of NXT TV. I think this episode did a great job of hyping up the Premium Live Event (PLE) on Saturday. I am very curious to see how the Iron Survivor Challenge Matches will play out. We can have an overbooked mess or a well booked Magum Opus for Triple H and company.

The matches this week were overall okay to good and every story line advanced whether it is part of the PLE or not. All in all, a fun episode of NXT.
