When the AEW faithful turn on a wrestler; they turn fast. Only a month ago Sammy Guevara was easily one of the favorites on the AEW roster, while his nemesis, Scorpio Sky, along with manager Dan Lambert had white hot heat. Last week, when Sky captured the TNT title in an epic ladder the match, the crowd was fully behind Sky and cheering Lambert. Who saw that coming? It seems like AEW is going along with the fans. Let’s get to the action.

Jeff Hardy w/Matt Hardy vs. Bobby Fish w/Kyle O’Reilly – Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Qualifying Match

Not only does Fish have his tag team partner at ringside, but Adam Cole has joined the commentary team. Hardy with the early advantage, as Cole says Fish is just feeling out his opponent. The fight goes to the floor. Fish with a dragon screw, sending Hardy into the barrier. Darby Allin and Sting watch from up high in the arena.  Fish continues to work the knee and leg with dragon screws. Hardy with a Twist of Fate and he heads to the high rent district. Fish cuts him down with a kick and meets him up top. An avalanche falcon arrow sends Hardy crashing to the mat, but Fish only get a two count. Hardy kicks out but is still in trouble with a heel hook. Hardy is able to claw his way to the ropes to break the hold. Fish runs into a back elbow, allowing Hardy to connect on a leaping backflip kick. Hardy safely makes it to the top turnbuckle and delivers a swanton bomb. Hardy covers to get the pin.

After the match, the Young Bucks saunter to the ring. The Hardys and the Bucks stare each other down. The Bucks instead check on Bobby Fish as the Hardys celebrate in the ring.

Bryan Danielson, Wheeler Yuta and Jon Moxley vs. Butcher, Blade and Angelico – Trios Match

Regal joins the commentary table for the match. The Blackpool Combat club get jumped before the bell. The match starts with Danielson in the ring with Blade, who punches him into the corner. Bryan recovers to hit the running knee on Angelico in the corner. Yuta tags in, connecting with a drop kick to the Blade and then Butcher. A low cross body sends Yuta to the mat. Wheeler slips through Butcher’s legs to deliver a massive German suplex. Mox gets the hot tag, sending Blade to the floor. He then tosses him all over ringside. In the ring Mox hits a cutter and then bites Butcher. Angelico with a roundhouse kick. A lariat stops Angelico and Danielson tags in, coming in with a drop kick. Mox and Yuta cut off Butcher and Blade, allowing Bryan to kick in Angelico’s head. Danielson locks in the triangle sleeper and Angelico takes a nap.

Winners via submission: The Blackpool Combat Club

Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs are interrupted by Jurassic Express. Jungle Boy accepts their challenge for the AEW World Tag Team titles, but first JB wants a shot at the FTW title. Starks agrees to the match next week.

Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland have unfinished business with Starks and Hobbs. Swerve wants payback.

Wardlow vs. MJF’s Mystery We all know that the “Mystery Opponent” is the wrestler formerly known as Big Cass, but let’s go through the motions anyway. Wardlow is lead to the ring again in handcuffs. MJF walks out on stage with Shawn Spears and introduces William Morrisey.

Ravens head coach, John Harbaugh, is at ringside. If you care about that sort of thing. Morrissey beats on Wardlow with overhand shots and then splash him in the corner. Wardlow explodes out of the corner with a spear. The two fight to the floor, with Wardlow getting slammed face first into the apron. Back in the ring, Morrissey takes Wardlow down hard with a Boss Man slam. Wardlow fights his way off the top turnbuckle, connecting on a moonsault. Wardlow pulls down his straps and is ready to conduct. He hits one power bomb and covers to get the three count.

Winner via pinfall: Wardlow

After the match, security goes to retrieve Wardlow, but tonight he fights back. He takes out the security detail as MJF calls for more security to hit the ring. Wardlow takes out all comers, power bombing the last one in the ring onto the others on the outside. Wardlow tells MJF he will not stop until he gets his hands on MJF and is released from his contract. MJF offers a match but first, they will have a contract signing in Long Island.

Tony Schiavone is with Dr. Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter, Ruby Soho and Tony Storm who will kick off Rampage on Friday at a special time; 5:30 p.m. eastern time.

Well, looks like AEW World Heavyweight Champion Hangman Adam Page has recovered and been cleared from his bout with COVID. The champ is asked about the challenged issued to him by CM Punk. It would be easy for Page to tell us how he is looking forward to this, but it won’t be that easy. There will be no handshake, no Bret Hart tribute, but he will destroy CM Punk. Page calls out a CM Punk fan in the crowd. Punk isn’t in the building, most likely because he is filming a TV show. He promises Punk that he will embarrass him in the fight of his life.

Sanjay Dutt isn’t pleased that Sanjay Singh didn’t get the red carpet treatment like all the other international superstars. Jay Lethal wants a match on Rampage against Takeshida.

Santana w/Ortiz vs. “The Wizard” Chris Jericho w/The Jericho Appreciation Society

Santana wipes out Jericho before he even gets to the ring. He decks Jericho on the floor and follows with a chop. Jericho is whipped into the security barrier. Santana pulls the ring steps out, but the time allows Jericho to recover. Jericho takes a camera, but Santana flips him off and kicks him in the gut. Jericho hides behind referee Audrey Edwards, but Santana connects with a pump kick. He smashes Chris on the ring steps and rolls him into the ring. The match finally official starts.

Jericho with a springboard drop kicks, that sends Santana to the floor. The two fight in the corner. Santana blocks a bulldog, with Jericho getting hung up in the ropes. Santana pays tribute to Eddie Guerrero with the three amigos suplex. Santana goes up top, but Jericho meets him there. A head butt sends Jericho to the mat and Santana hits the frog splash. Jericho kicks out of the pin. Santana gets put in the Walls of Jericho, but is able to get to the ropes and break the hold. Santana with small package roll up, but Jericho kicks out. The two trade chops in the middle of the ring. Santana with a stunner, but it still isn’t enough. Ortiz saves his partner by ripping a bat away from the JAS. Santana gets another near fall off the distraction and then follows with cannon ball. The JAS provides another distraction, allowing Jericho to hit Santana with a low blow. He follows with the Judas Effect and covers for the three count.

Winner via pinfall: Chris Jericho

After the match, Santana and Ortiz take a beating from the JAS.

The Gunn Club drops in on the Acclaimed bearing gifts. They are scissors. AWWWWW… they’re friends now.

Brian Pillman has been humbled by their encounter with the House of Black. Julia Hart is still poisoned. Everything he has ever worked for is being turn apart. Pillman was inspired by his father’s friend, John Harbaugh. Today is new day though, and he wants to protect the one thing that makes them whole. He calls out the House of Black. The lights go out and be careful what you wish for.

The lights come up the Blondes are surrounded. The House of Black attacks, sending Pillman into Griff Garrison. Brodie King with a cannonball. Malakai Black approaches Julia Hart, who walks over to a prone Garrison. King hands Hart a chair. She can’t bring herself to strike. Black rips off her eye patch as the three berate her in the ring. Death Triangle make their way to the ring and the House of Black clears out.

Jade Cargill has been celebrating since her match two weeks ago in Pittsburgh. Red Velvet says she is winning the Owen Hart tournament.

Martin catches a drop kick a the ropes and Fenix takes him out on the floor. Fenix with a flipping Russian leg sweep off the middle rope. Martin kicks out. Fenix gets caught in the corner with a kick and Martin with a diving cross body. Martin fires away with kicks. Fenix delivers a hurricanrana. Fenix with a pop up cutter and covers. Martin kicks out. Martin counters the driver and lands a solid kick. He goes up top, but Fenix cuts him off at the pass. Rey meets him on the top turnbuckle. They both do a back flip and lands on their feet. Martin hits a poison-rana and goes up top. He misses the nose dive but catches Fenix coming off the middle rope. Fenix with knees into a brain buster. Fenix covers and gets the win.

AEW Women’s World Champion walks out to tell her story. She then calls out the number one contender, Serena Deeb. Serena has respect for the champ and wants to make AEW the best women’s division in the world. For that to happen though the best wrestler needs to be champion. Rosa takes offense to what she is insinuating. Deeb claims she is on another level and it’s her time for the championship. Deeb bets that Rosa is going to have the shortest title reign in AEW Women’s history.

John Silver is ready for CM Punk next week.

Mercedes Martinez (interim champion) vs. Deonna Purrazzo (champion) – Ring of Honor Women’s World Championship Match

Purrazzo ditches the code of honor, kicking away Martinez’s handshake. The two lock up and trade holds. Martinez wants a test of strength. Purrazzo stomps away at Mercedes in the corner. Martinez with a spear on the apron. The two trade blows in the middle of the ring. Mercedes with a clothesline and follows with a back drop. A running boot drops Deonna in the corner. A Russian leg sweep sets up an arm bar, but Mercedes is able to fend Purrazzo off. A running knee strike drops Deonna, but she kicks out after a fisherman’s buster. Both women hit the mat on a double clothesline. Purrazzo get caught on the turnbuckle and Mercedes slams her to the mat. She follows with a curb stomp. Martinez looks to lock in a dragon sleeper. Purrazzo tries to bite her way out, but Martinez is able to lock it in. Purrazzo taps out.
