This Revolution will definitely be televised. Tonight, the superstars of AEW go to war in a ladder match, in a battle royal and in an Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch. Oh, yeah, there are some regular matches on the card too. Check out the predictions and prognostications from our writers – and, as a bonus, we’ve also included thoughts from AEW owner Tony Khan from his recent appearance on the AEW Unrestricted Podcast.

The Young Bucks versus The Inner Circle – AEW World Tag Team Championship Match

Betonline.ag

The Young Bucks: -250. Chris Jericho & MJF: +170. Winners: The Young Bucks: -250

John Powell

Editor-in-Chief

Poor Papa Buck. Poor, poor Papa Buck. The Young Bucks are out for revenge so I suspect this one is gonna get nasty. Look for Sammy Guevara to perhaps play a role in The Inner Circle dropping the ball. Winners: The Young Bucks.

Tony Khan

President and CEO of AEW

The Young Bucks have been good Tag Team Champions but this time they got a purpose. What happened with Matt and Nick’s dad… brought a lot of personal chaos and animosity to the situation… and I think the Young Bucks are out for blood. I think it will be one of the most interesting matches on the card and it is going to be a great tag title match.

Bob Kapur

Senior Editor

This one has the potential to be a good match, but they’ll waste the potential in order to cram in a bunch of nonsense in an overbooked mess. Look for interference by Wardlow and possibly the Young Bucks’ father, and by Sammy Guevara who will cement his split from the Inner Circle by costing MJF and Jericho the match. Over-under for Superkicks in this one is 12. Winners: the Young Bucks

Team Taz (Brian Cage and Ricky Starks) versus Darby Allin and Sting – Street Fight

Betonline.ag

Darby Allin and Sting: -450.  Brian Cage & Ricky Starks: +275. Winners: Darby Allin and Sting

John Powell

Editor-in-Chief

Sting cannot possibly lose in his comeback match. No how. No way. Starks and Cage will have a good showing though. Winners: Sting and Darby Allin.

Tony Khan

President and CEO of AEW

Sting wrestling again (is) one of the most important impactful things on this pay per view that people are going to get excited about. We remember Sting from the 90s in the rafters and now we see Darby up there and the face paint and all that. It just seems to fit. They have a lot of common ground and I (think that’s) a really cool mix of the new and prior generation.

Bob Kapur

Senior Editor

Even though Sting wasn’t injured after the powerbomb by Brian Cage, that doesn’t mean he should be taking those kinds of blows. Which is why this one will likely be a cinematic match. Unfortunately, that probably means a bunch of over-the-top body bag stunts. No way Sting loses – if he did, that would defeat the purpose of trying to give Allin the rub by linking him with Sting in the first place. Winners: Sting and Darby Allin

Hikaru Shida (champion) versus Ryo Mizunami (challenger) – AEW Women’s World Championship Match

John Powell

Editor-in-Chief

This is a very tough one. Did AEW bring Ryo Mizunami all the way from Japan to become their new champ? I am going to err on the side of…No Way. Winner: Hikaru Shida.

Bob Kapur

Senior Editor

If they seriously wanted people to think that the winner of the Japanese bracket of the Eliminator tournament had any chance of winning the title, they would have done something to show her as a major threat to Shida. Instead, their fisticuffs exchange ended with Shida punching her down to the mat and smiling down at her. Way to build the heat (#sarcasm). Winner: Hikaru Shida

Adam Page versus Matt Hardy – Big Money Match

Betonline.ag

Adam Page: -350. Matt Hardy: +225. Winner: Adam Page.

John Powell

Editor-in-Chief

This could go either way really. It would probably play out better as an angle if Hardy wins though. Winner: Matt Hardy

Tony Khan

President and CEO of AEW

This is going to be huge. Both guys have been red hot this year. I think this is going to really have a great chance to be one of the top matches on the show. Hangman Page has been a great singles wrestler with a great record. But it’s a big money match, so “Big Money” Matt, it’s his domain.

Bob Kapur

Senior Editor

Adam Page deserves much better than to be in a mid-card match as part of a dumb storyline with silly stipulations. An interesting choice here would be for the Dark Order to try to help Page, but screw it up, leading to him to start a major feud with them during which he takes them all out one-by-one. But they’ll probably dumb it down instead, and they’ll help him get the win. Winner: Adam Page

Cody Rhodes versus Scorpio Sky versus Penta El Zero Miedo versus Lance Archer versus Max Caster versus TBA – Face of the Revolution Ladder Match

John Powell

Editor-in-Chief

We haven’t seen too much from SoCal Uncensored lately. They need to push Scorpio to the moon based on the talent he has. Go for it, AEW. Winner: Scorpio Sky.

Tony Khan

President and CEO of AEW

We’ve got all these great competitors. You’ve got Cody Rhodes, you’ve got Penta, you’ve got Lance Archer, you’ve got Max Castor, you’ve got Scorpio Sky, and there’s one nobody knows about.

Bob Kapur

Senior Editor

This one will be all about the surprise entrant. I’d like it to be someone from Impact like Chris Bey or Black Taurus, just to do something with that invasion storyline. Failing that, I’d like to see Ethan Page come in, because he’s too talented to not be signed with a major company. If it’s Page, I see him getting into it with Lance Archer, and Cody ends up winning it. If it’s anyone other than Page, I see them winning the match. Winner: It depends

Kenny Omega versus Jon Moxley – Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch, AEW World Championship Match

Betonline.ag

Kenny Omega: – 550. Jon Moxley: +325. Winner: Kenny Omega

John Powell

Editor-In-Chief

AEW has way too much invested in this angle with Impact Wrestling. Winner: Kenny Omega

Tony Khan

President and CEO of AEW

These are two of the best wrestlers in the world. And I think they’re going to do some really innovative stuff. I think it’s going to be an awesome match.

Bob Kapur

Senior Editor

As my “Bloodthirsty” moniker suggests, I relish the idea of an exploding barbed wire death match. I want to see deathmatch guys who will be willing to get carved up really badly, and who will suffer serious burns for my entertainment dollar. But I expect I’m going to be disappointed because these two guys will be forced to play it safe. I think it would be more interesting if Omega keeps the title, but I think they’ll want to end the show with Moxley getting his payback. Winner: Jon Moxley

Miro and Kip Sabian (with Penelope Ford) versus Best Friends (Orange Cassidy and Chuck Taylor)

Betonline.ag

Miro & Kip Sabian: +120. Best Friends: -160. Winners: Best Friends

John Powell

Editor-in-Chief

Dude was made to be a butler. He has to get his comeuppance here and humiliate the heels. Plus, the Best Friends have Orange Cassidy. Winners: Best Friends

Tony Khan

President and CEO of AEW

Miro is the last man on the face of the earth that I would want to make mad. It’s gonna be a tremendous match. And, you know, I’m really excited to see how all four guys fare.

Bob Kapur

Senior Editor

Everything about this feud sucks. Everyone in this match sucks. Winners: None – they’re all losers.

Casino Tag Team Royale

John Powell

Editor-in-Chief

You would have to be crazy not to side with The Dark Order as the odds are in their favour but I am going to go with Top Flight as they are the young upstarts who will have phenomenal matches with The Young Bucks. Winners: Top Flight.

Tony Khan

President and CEO of AEW

The first ever Casino Tag Team Royale is going to be an amazing match. I’m really excited for it.

Bob Kapur

Senior Editor

What a waste. They have incredible teams like Santana & Ortiz, Pac & Fenix, and SCU. And instead of having a wicked 3-way match, they feel compelled to cram in a bunch of mid-carders. As a result, this is going to be an overstuffed, mind-numbing spotfest that will stop being entertaining long before it ends. Any of the three teams I mentioned should win, but they’ll probably give it to Jurassic Express just so they can play Jungle Boy’s song at the end and have the crowd sing along to it – Tony Khan paid for that song, so they’d better get their money’s worth. Winners: Jurassic Express

Riho and Thunder Rosa versus Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. and Rebel

John Powell

Editor-in-Chief

Riho and Thunder Rosa are just outclassing their opponents here. It should be a cake walk for Riho and Rosa. Winners: Riho and Thunder Rosa.

Bob Kapur

Senior Editor

This one seems to serve no purpose other than to find a way to build to another match between Thunder Rosa and Riho. Surely they could have found a better way to do this than putting them into a throw-away prelim match against a comedy duo? Winners: Britt Baker and Rebel
