As Bob Kapur explained in his editorial the WWE needs to take Survivor Series back to the drawing board. This year doesn’t feel the same. Perhaps it is because NXT is not part of things. No matter. The Slam Wrestling brain trust has all of your Survivor Series predictions and prognostications. BTW: Check out Dave Hillhouse’s piece ‘SURVIVOR SERIES AND THE BEST-LAID PLANS OF FATHERS AND SONS’ for more Survivor Series thoughts.

Despite all of their nattering back and forth, Team Raw will pull out a win. Winners: Team Raw.

Despite the fact that the RAW Team should logically win look for Rollins and the mystery partner to be the sole survivors.

Dave Hillhouse

Hollywood Headlock Editor

I like the feel of this match-up, in that it reminds me of the early days of Survivor Series contests. There aren’t any super-strong storylines between the participants (no Jeff Hardy for Sheamus and no Rey Mysterio for Seth Rollins, no Daniel Bryan for Jey Uso), which leaves it wide open in my opinion. So, looking at the field, and wondering who gets the major push, I’m going to call for Keith Lee and (Matt) Riddle as the remaining survivors.

Gavin Hillhouse

SmackDown Reporter

Jey Uso is in the middle of a massive push as Roman Reigns’ lackey, but the Raw team seems too objectively stacked to lose. SmackDown will put up a good fight, but Raw will come out on top.

Bob Kapur

Senior Editor

Based on the build-up for this match, it seems pretty obvious that Team RAW will implode. I think that Braun, Lee, and Sheamus all take out one of the Smackdown team, but each time, AJ comes in and steals the pin. His team finally has enough and that triggers the in-fighting, and then they lay each other out, allowing Smackdown to scoop in and eliminate them one-by-one. Winners: Team Smackdown (Otis and Jey Uso surviving).

All Team Smackdown has the Riott Squad so the Force isn’t with them. Lana will somehow score the win for her team. Winners: Team Raw

Look for Jax and Baszler to eliminate a bunch of SmackDown competitors and than take out their own team members on the way to a win.

Dave Hillhouse

Hollywood Headlock Editor

I see the SmackDown Team winning, with the Riott Squad taking out both Women’s tag champs to set up a rivalry between them. Plus, we know that Nia Jax is going to be putting Lana through a table at some point, so it’s basically 4 VS 5.

Gavin Hillhouse

Smackdown Reporter

I’m tempted to say that Shayna Baszler has a repeat wrecking crew performance, similar to Elimination Chamber, but I really feel that the momentum is with either Bianca Belair or Liv Morgan. So, I’ll call for a miscommunication/disagreement between the Women’s Tag Champs serving to get them both out of the match, leaving the Riott Squad plus Belair to emerge as the victorious trio.

Bob Kapur

Senior Editor

Like the men’s match, this one will see the RAW team lose as a result of their own dissension. in this case, Nia and Shayna will be the ones causing the trouble. If there’s any justice, they would both get their comeuppance at Lana’s hands – but that’s not likely. Winners: Team Smackdown (Bianca, Liv, and Bayley surviving)

Poor Sami. He deserves better but he won’t get it here. Prepare for Lashley to dominate. Winner: Bobby Lashley

BetOnline.AG

Bobby Lashley -325 Sami Zayn +215. Winner: Bobby Lashley

Matthew Byer

While Lashley would seem the logical victor look for Zayn to cheat his way to a win.

Dave Hillhouse

Hollywood Headlock Editor

What Zayn does so remarkably well is scurry around like a mouse that you can’t quite catch: he gets chased, he gets beat up, he even loses – but he hangs onto the title. There’s no need for that here, with the titles not on the line. I expect a beatdown from Lashley and a lot of conspiratorial complaining from Zayn afterwards. Winner: Bobby Lashley

Gavin Hillhouse

SmackDown Reporter:

Zayn has been a real weasel for a while now, but he hasn’t had anything to brag about since winning the Intercontinental Title. I see him weaseling his way to a victory by using the ropes as leverage during a pin or something like that, just so he can be a better heel by bragging about his incredible win.

Bob Kapur

Senior Editor

Rumours are that the plan for this one is Bobby completely destroying Sami. But since that’s out there, I can see them calling the audible. I think Retribution interferes, and their distraction gives Sami the upset win.

This should be a great match-up considering these two teams haven’t clashed before. The New Day should do the right thing here and give the young dudes a push. Winners: The Street Profits

A toss up.  I’ll go with The New Day for the duke.

Dave Hillhouse

Hollywood Headlock Editor

If you like your wrestling with high flying and fun, then this is your dream match in the WWE. More than that, I do expect to be entertained by a match that will likely start with antics and get chippier as it goes. I have this sad, sneaking suspicion that Langston may arrive and try to help Kingston and Woods but inadvertently cost them the match. Worse, he could actually turn on them. I say this because I wants New Day to stick together until they retire, but I don’t trust it and the cards could be laid out for something to happen tonight. Either way, winners: Street Profits.

Gavin Hillhouse

SmackDown Reporter

As much as Big E has told the Profits that there will be no torch-passing of any kind, the New Day have been split up, and this seems like this may be their last title run. I see the Street Profits winning and cementing themselves as a dominant tag team. Winner: Street Profits

Bob Kapur

This should be a fun one. The company seems to love the New Day, and as I’ve picked the Smackdown side to win both elimination matches, I’m picking RAW in this one. Winners: the New Day

Sasha Banks hasn’t held a women’s title beyond 30 days max so she needs the push to give her credibility. Asuka is having another solid championship run. Winner: Sasha Banks

BetOnline.AG

Asuka +120 Sasha Banks -160. Winner: Sasha Banks

Matthew Byer

Being that WWE seems like they are finally giving Banks a real run on the main roster with one of the championships it seems overdue that she finally gets a win against The Empress of Tomorrow.

Dave Hillhouse

Hollywood Headlock Editor

Ah, the one night a year that SmackDown and Raw superstars go head to head! Again! Here’s another match that simply cries out for interference, what with the new and unimproved Carmella skulking around somewhere. However, tonight I say she fails in her mission and accidentally takes Asuka out, handing the win to Banks. Asuka saves face, while Banks and Carmella take a step forward. Winner: Sasha Banks.

Gavin Hillhouse

SmackDown Reporter

Asuka’s done it before, so there’s no reason she can’t do it again. It wouldn’t really be that detrimental to Banks’ validity since she’s already lost to Asuka recently. Winner: Asuka

Bob Kapur

Senior Editor

This is one that Sasha probably should win, just because she always gives the impression that she’s a weak champion. But I don’t think they’ll do that because the company seems to want to keep Askua always looking strong. Also, because I think they’re going to have the brands go in tied heading into the Drew-Roman main event, and based on my other picks, that means RAW gets the win here. Winner :Asuka

A clash of the titans. It would be nice to see the Scottish Psychopath go over here but…it is Roman Reigns so… Winner: Roman Reigns

BetOnline.AG

Drew McIntyre +175 Roman Reigns -250 Winner: Roman Reigns

Matthew Byer

Contributor, Reporter

This is a match that really feels like it should be happening at WrestleMania instead of Survivor Series.  Despite that it seems likely that Reigns will win due to interference from one of the Usos.  However, look for an outside chance that Brock Lesnar shows up and destroys both competitors.

Dave Hillhouse

Hollywood Headlock Editor

I can’t remember the last time I was this invested in a Roman Reigns match. Possibly never. I don’t think it will mean much going forward, mind you, as he will return to the rushed “Tribal Chief” storyline as soon as Sunday has passed, but in the meantime this match is lightning in a bottle. I feel like hedging my bets because it’s such a toss-up, but I might as well go with my preference. Winner, barely: Drew McIntyre.

Gavin Hillhouse

SmackDown Reporter

It’s hard to imagine either of these Superstars taking a loss, but Jey trying to interfere and costing Roman the match would create some interesting family drama, so I’ll go with that. Winner: Drew McIntyre

Bob Kapur

Senior Editor

Short as it’s been, the build-up for this match has been great, culminating with that stellar contract signing segment on Friday. It’s a match I didn’t even know I wanted to see, and now I’m looking forward to it more than I have for any match in months. If they are seriously angling for Reigns to face the Rock at WrestleMania, then he has to look completely dominant and unstoppable going into that match, so he has to get the win here. But it will be some kind of screwjob, just to keep Drew looking strong as well. Maybe Miz tries for a Money in the Bank cash-in mid-match, or the Fiend makes an appearance. Whatever it is, it costs Drew the match. Winner: Roman Reigns
