Clash of Champions is on the horizon for WWE, which should be the easiest show to book on the calendar. All the titles have to be defended, so that’s not a hard card to fill out. We know that Randy Orton will take on Drew McIntyre for the WWE championship, if Drew is medically cleared. It’s still weeks away, so don’t expect Drew tonight in the ThunderDome. (Expect the headline kind of gives it away.)

Randy Orton makes his way to ring as Micheal Cole puts over his recent ruthless streak. The Viper talks about the people he has beaten to get his rematch, but he has to face Keith Lee. He levies an ominous warning; the longer you are in the ring with him, the more likely you are to get punted in the head. Orton does have a title match with Drew McIntyre at Clash; if Drew is medically cleared. Orton wants to tell the truth. The truth is, he punted McIntyre in the skull and broke his jaw. Orton wants to know what will happen if Drew isn’t cleared. He has the solution; just give him the WWE title.

Orton is interrupted by an ambulance siren, which pulls into the ThunderDome. Drew McIntyre exits the vehicle. Something tells me he will be okay for Clash. The WWE champion takes out Orton with a Claymore kick before WWE officials can separate them.

Earlier today, the Hurt Business beat up a poor janitor in the back of the arena.

Adam Pearce isn’t please that McIntyre is back, because he isn’t medically cleared. He asks Drew to leave the ThunderDome. The champ has no issue. Pearce turns his attention to stopping Retribution, ordering security to their posts.

The Hurt Business vs. Apollo Crews, Ricochet and Cedric Alexander

MVP, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin beat down Cedric during his entrance. Crews and Ricochet runs them off. The bell rings with Crews taking the fight to Lashley. Benjamin with a kick as Crews climbs back into the ring. MVP with a big boot that leads to a two count. Benjamin knocks Alexander off the apron with a cheap shot. Crews with an enziguri and goes for the tag to Ricochet, but Cedric yanks his partner to the floor. He slams Ricochet into the security barrier. Crews is shocked. Alexander hits Apollo with the Lumbar Check as the Hurt Business looks on. Shelton hits Pay Dirt and covers to get the win.

The Street Profits vs. Andrade and Angel Garza w/Zelina Vega

Retribution interrupted this match last week, probably because they want this feud to end. Although, during their entrance, Andrade and Zelina completely ignore Garza. These two not being on the same page is nothing new, but usually Vega gets them back on track, not this time. Garza starts off the match and quickly tags in Andrade, who really isn’t thrilled about it. Garza and Vega argue at ringside, distracting Andrade. He misses the double knee strike and Dawkins hits him with the Low Down. Ford tags in, connecting with the Frog Splash. Andrade eats the pin as Garza walks off.

Winners via pinfall: The Street Profits

Immediately after the match, Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura, the Smackdown Tag Team champions walk out on stage. The announce team is beside themselves. I’m pretty sure that they are going to challenge the Street Profits at Clash of Champions.

After the commercial break, both teams are in the ring talking. The Street Profits are the longest reigning champions in years, much to Cesaro’s surprise. He and Shinsuke want to show RAW what real champions look like. They issues a challenge for next week, not Clash of Champions. Dawkins is slightly offended. He says the Street Profits are family and offers that Cesaro get tested; since he has had some many partners.

R Truth is reminiscing about his 24/7 title matches over dinner. He wants some dessert, but gets a big side of ninjas, instead. Truth evades Akira Tozawa, escaping the “restaurant” with his title and the dessert cart.

Peyton Royce vs. Billie Kay

I forgot the Peyton served Billie up to Jessamyn Duke last week on RAW Underground. These two do know each other well, countering and ducking each others moves. Peyton applies a rear chin lock. Kay powers her former partner into the corner and then slams her into the turnbuckle. Royce connects with a kick to the face and delivers a neck breaker. She covers Kay and gets the win.

Winner via pinfall: Peyton Royce

After the bell, Peyton helps Billie to her feet and the two embrace.

Charly Caruso welcomes the entire Mysterio family, Rey, his wife Angie, Dominik and daughter, Aaliyah. Rey wants a piece of Seth Rollins, but is proud that Dominik will take out Murphy tonight. Speaking of Murphy, he appears on the Titantron, blaming Dom for Seth Rollins turning his back on him. The Monday Night Messiah has forsaken him. Murphy challenges Dom to a street fight and he takes Murphy up on it. Murphy wants the Mysterio family at ringside.

Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax are arguing with Adam Pearce about their matches. Drew McIntyre is still here; he tells Pearce to relax, he jsut had to get his phone out of the ambulance.

Asuka and Mickie James vs. Lana and Natalya

Tonight, they team up, but next week Asuka will face James for the title. The two work well as a team, double teaming Natalya. Lana tags in and tries to nail Asuka with a cheap shot. The champ sees it coming. Mickie tags herself in, only to get beaten down in the corner by Nattie and Lana. Mickie with a neck breaker to Lana, but Asuka is nowhere to be found on the tag, after she took out Nattie. James goes up top, and Asuka tags herself in. She applies the Asuka lock to Lana, while James keeps Natalya out of the ring. Lana taps out.

Winners via submission: Asuka and Mickie James

Backstage, Shelton Benjamin tells Cedric Alexander that if this is some sort of plot against the Hurt Business, he will personally make him pay.

The V*I*P Lounge

MVP welcomes Cedric Alexander, the newest associate in the Hurt Business. MVP and Shelton want to know why he changed his mind. Alexander wants to learn and he was sick of being on the business end of the beat downs. He was sick of sacrificing himself for someone else’s opportunity. Cedric gets cut of by the Viking Raiders, who had his back last week. Ricochet and Apollo Crews join them and all four men storm the ring. They put the Hurt Business out of business for the time being. I sense an eight man tag match coming.

The Hurt Business vs. The Viking Raiders, Ricochet and Apollo Crews

The acquisition of Cedric pays of right away for the Hurt Business. He picks up a win for the Hurt Business after avoiding the 630 from Ricochet and hitting him with the Michinoku Driver. Ricochet may have kicked out before three, though, which Micheal Cole points out.

Medical staff attend to Ivar post match after he took out MVP and Lashley with a suicide dive.

Drew McIntyre is still in the building. He tells Charly he grabbed the wrong phone and now he can’t find the exit.

Kevin Owens is impressed by the size of the doorman for RAW Underground. He still thinks Shane is a jackass, too.

Randy Orton vs. Keith Lee

Orton is still smarting from the Claymore kick earlier in the night. Lee pulls Orton into the ring from the floor, but the Viper hangs him up on the top rope. Orton uses a thumb to the eye, allowing him to strike. Lee stands firm on an attempted RKO and sends Orton to the floor. Lee charges, but Orton sits out and Lee crashes into the security barrier. Lee just beats the count to get back in the ring. Orton locks in a reverse chin lock, taking Lee to the mat. Keith gets to his feet and dodges another RKO. Orton grabs his jaw as Lee splashes him in the corner. He follows with a power slam. Orton kicks out of the pin. Orton slips over Lee’s back and drops him with an RKO. Out of nowhere, Drew McIntyre drops Orton with a Claymore kick. The ref calls for the bell.

Winner by disqualification: Randy Orton

Drew gets chewed out by Adam Pearce at the top of the ramp.

RAW Underground

Aleister Black dispatches some jobber while waiting for Kevin Owens. KO storms the ring and the two fight to the floor. Owens drives Black into the side of the ring and suplexes him on the floor. Shane cuts to commercial.

Back above ground, Adam Pearce apologizes to Orton, who wants no part of it. Randy tells him that his word means nothing.

Shayna Baszler w/Nia Jax vs. The Riott Squad – 2 on 1 Handicapped Match

Shayna works a double wrist lock, working the joints of Ruby Riott. Liv Morgan makes the tag, but Shayna doesn’t let her enter the ring. Morgan finally gets her chance and Shayna slams her on her face. Nia isn’t impressed with the performance, insulting Shayna. The distraction allows Morgan to hit a sunset flip and get the pin.

Winners via pinfall: The Riott Squad

RAW Underground

So, have Black and Owens been fighting all this time? KO is pummeling Black, but Aleister is able to lock in an arm bar. Owens powers to his feet and whips Black in the wall to break the hold. Things break down and KO and Black start beating up everyone at ringside. Shane tries to regain control.

Nia Jax w/Shayna Baszler vs. The Riott Squad

Nia gets distracted by Shayna offering advice and nearly gets pinned. Ruby and Liv work over Jax in the corner. Jax with a hard clothesline, sending Ruby to the mat. Jax looks to stomp on the elbow of Ruby, but she escapes. Liv makes a blind tag as Ruby is up for the Samoan drop. The lights flicker as Morgan drives her knees into the face of Jax. She covers only for the ThunderDome to go dark. A Retribution logo appears on the screen. Several masked figures deliver a screed against WWE. Retribution isn’t messing around.

No Contest

Sarah Schreiber gets one last word with Rey Mysterio before his son’s match with Murphy. Rey tells her the entire family will be in Dominik’s corner and they all know how to handle themselves.

RAW Underground

The fight between Black and Owens is still going on. Owens drops hammer fists and knocks Black down with a head butt. Aleister unleashes a Black Mass kick. Owens is down but not out. He tosses Black to the floor. Dabbo Kato attacks Owens and Black, taking them both out and Shane calls the fight.

Randy Orton staggers through the back, when Charly Caruso approaches him with questions. She doesn’t get a chance to finish as McIntyre attacks. He tosses Orton into a practice ring and connects with another Claymore kick.

After the break, Orton is taken away in an ambulance.

Dominik Mysterio w/ Mysterio Family vs. Murphy – Street Fight

The entire Mysterio family comes to the ring armed with kendo sticks. Murphy strike quickly with a knee and takes Dom to the floor. He tosses him onto the announce table. Murphy takes a look at the family, allowing Dominik time to recover. He beats Murphy around the ring, laying him out in front the of fan screens. Dominik climbs the screens and hits Murphy with a cross body.

After the break, Dominik is still in control, beating on Murphy on the ramp. Murphy with  strike to the chest and slams Dom into the steel ramp. He drops Dominik onto the security barrier, ribs first. Murphy with a kick to the back and the strike with a chair. He rolls Dom back into the ring to make the pin, but Dominik kicks out. Murphy applies an abdominal stretch, but Dominik breaks free; tossing Murphy over the top rope. Murphy misses a splash in the corner, but is able to drive Mysterio into the ring post, several times. Dominik is tied up in the ropes, but is able to fight Murphy off. Rey keeps a kendo stick away from Murphy, who grabs a table instead. Dom’s mom and sister free him from the ropes. Dominik with a sunset flip bomb off the apron, sending Murphy through a table. He rolls Murphy back into the ring and hits the frog splash from the top. Murphy kicks out, so Dom ties him up in the ropes. He grabs a kendo stick and goes to town. Rey joins in on the beating, while yelling at Seth Rollins through the camera. Rey incites his daughter and wife to get in on the action. It’s a family affair! The family that beats someone up together, stays together. Murphy quits and the ref calls for the bell.

Winner: Dominik Mysterio

Unfortunately for Murphy the beating doesn’t stop. He is still getting beaten as the show goes off the air. See you next week in the ThunderDome!

Monday Night RAW 9/7/2020

The ThunderDome at Amway Arena, Orlando, Florida

Monday Night RAW showed great improvement this week. Drew McIntyre stalking Randy Orton and dishing out Claymore kicks was fun. I’m still not sold on RAW Underground, though. It doesn’t matter who is fighting as there are no rules and anyone can jump in at anytime. WWE announced that Retribution is now only on RAW, while only giving them one segment this week. Check out the main event, the entire Mysterio family beating on Murphy with kendo sticks is a good time.
