The wrestling world was shocked by the sudden retirement of 11-time world champion Edge (Adam Copeland) on Monday’s edition of Raw from Bridgeport, Conn. “The Rated R Superstar” announced he could no longer compete due to symptoms of neurapraxia, WWE.com reports. With his hands shaking due to the condition that forced this retirement, Copeland gave an emotional retirement speech in which he explained his condition and thanked the fans. In the aftermath of Copeland’s announcement, the wrestling world reacted on Twitter.

Matt Hardy: Heard Adam is retiring because of physical issues that won’t allow him to safely continue wrestling. He’ll be missed, we’ve certainly had our fair share of issues.. Both good and bad. But I tip my hat to Edge who is one of the greatest I’ve ever been in the ring with. Adam resides in NC now-sure I’ll run into him down the road. Glad that him & I are in a good place. We came in as friends, & went out that way.
