Greetings and salutations! It’s Wednesday and that means its time for another action packed two hour block of AEW. This is the last Dynamite before AEW Dynasty this Sunday on PPV and we are at the breaking point for some of the stories leading into Sunday. This week on the show we have the return of NEW IWGP Champion Jon Moxley. Also on the show we have some mixed tag team action as TNT Champion Adam Copeland and Willow Nightingale take on Brody King and TBS Champion Julia Hart. We also have Will Ospreay taking on Claudio Castagnoli. With all that and so much more, let’s get straight to the action.


Jon Moxley Returns


The show kicks off with the newly crowned IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, Jon Moxley making his return to AEW TV. Jon Moxley says one of the first championships he ever won as a professional wrestler was in Indianapolis. Moxley reflects on the fact that through his entire career, he’s been told what he can’t do and he’s made a career of proving people wrong. Moxley said that people can kiss his ass. Moxley holds up the IWGP Heavyweight Championship and says that he’s been chasing that title for five years. He then said people said it would be impossible, but he says it wouldn’t be impossible if people knew what was inside him and what he can do when his back is against the wall.

Jon Moxley turns his attention to the Don Callis Family and says Callis is a creep. Moxley says that Callis is telling and feeding his group nothing but lies. Moxley ismad that Danielson was attacked on Collision and calls out the Callis family, and calls them gutless. Moxley calls out Powerhouse Hobbs and challenges him to a match next week on Dynamite and says that he’s done with Hobbs next week, he’ll know that Callis has been feeding him lies.


Mercedes Moné is backstage. Moné says last week, someone attacked her in the dark because they were too afraid to face her in the light. Moné says as the CEO, she can’t wait to pay back whoever attacked her last week. Mercedes ponders if it was Julia Hart or someone trying to make her think it was Julia Hart. Moné said she’ll be watching tonight’s mixed tag match closely.


TNT Champion Adam Copeland and Willow Nightingale VS Brody King and TBS Champion Julia Hart


As Copeland is in the ring waiting for his partner, we cut to the back and see that Willow Nightingale was attacked backstage. Copeland is now forced to start the match alone.

Copeland hits King with some punches in the corner, then finished of this combo with an Impaler DDT for near fall. Copeland continues his attack on King as he does a Blockbuster from the middle rope. Copeland played to the crowd and then went for a spear, but King is able to recover and hit a huge Clothesline on Copeland. With Copeland in the corner, King went for a cannonball, but Copeland avoids it.

Willow Nightingale walked out with Kris Statlander and Stokey Hathaway. Back in the ring, King goes for a slam, but Copeland gets a foot up which Nightingale used to tag in. Willow is in and hits King with a Crossbody Block. Copeland speared King. Willow with a Cannonball in the corner on King. The ref had his back turned checking on King and Hart wrapped her hand with a chain and hits Nightingale. Hart is in the match and puts Nightingale in Hartless to have the ref call the match.

Winners: Brody King and TBS Champion Julia Hart

Mercedes Moné runs down with a chair in hand and chases off Julia Hart. Moné and Nightingale don’t see eye to eye and Moné shakes Copeland’s hand.


Renee Paquette is with Samoa Joe. Joe says Swerve Strickland will one day make a great champion, but right now, he’s a nuisance. Joe says Swerve has had every championship opportunity but he still chokes. Samoa Joe says Swerve is a choke artist, and at AEW Dynasty he’ll choke him out instead.

A video package for the FTR and Young Bucks match at Dynasty airs, but its cut off by Matthew and Nicholas. The Jacksons say they’ll put it on social media later. They say they are about to go out and preview their match shortly. Kazuchika Okada says after tonight, PAC won’t make it to Dynasty.


“The Elite” AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada, Matthew Jackson, and Nicholas Jackson VS Pac, Daniel Garcia, and Penta El Zero Miedo (w/Alex Abrahantes)


All six wrestlers were fighting at ringside to kick things off. Garcia was taken down by the Bucks and they take the mic and question why they even hired him. Garcia picked up Matthew and slams him hard with a Suplex. PAC tagged in and hit a top rope moonsault on the Jacksons.

Back in the ring, PAC glares at Okada, but one of the Jackson’s with the attack from behind. With PAC on the corner, The Elite his a triple team kick, followed by a Neck Breaker. Okada with the pin, which was broken up by Penta.

Okada and PAC are finally in the ring alone and they trade strikes. PAC with a Thrust kick. PAC went to the top rope, but Matthew tripped him up. Garcia tagged, but was Dropkicked by Okada. Garcia came right back with a Jackknife pin attempt that was only good for a 2-count. The Jacksons hit Garcia with kicks in the corner. Okada performed tombstone piledrivers on Garcia and then Penta. Okada held Garcia in place while the Jacksons hit him with a double superkick. With Penta the only standing member of his team, Okada hits a Rainmaker for the win.

After the match, the Young Bucks hit Daniel Garcia with the EVP Trigger and the Bucks brought a ladder into the ring. Nicholas bodyslammed Garcia on it. The Elite placed Garcia inside the ladder, and Nick Jackson goes to the top, but PAC rushes in with the bell hammer causing the Elite to run…


Taz Mediates a chat between HOOK and Jericho


Chris Jericho and HOOK were in thering with Taz between them. HOOK is in the corner eating chips. Chris Jericho thanks HOOK for coming out. Jericho said he pulled HOOK off the ring apron last week because he wasn’t listening to him. Jericho says he is the learning tree and everyone who has listened and gone through th Jericho Vortex comes better on the other side and has gotten to the next level. Jericho asked if HOOK is ready to learn under his learning tree. HOOK says no.

HOOK says he doesn’t need Jericho’s help. Jericho tells him not to be stupid. Taz tried to tell Jericho to relax, but Jericho tells him to stop. Jericho says that he is just doing what Taz should have done 30 year ago and give HOOK some guidance.

Taz was heated now. Jericho says HOOK isn’t as good as he thinks he is. Taz gets in the middle, but Jericho pushed him down. HOOK grabbed Jericho and shoves him. HOOK said he will show Jericho how good he is anytime, anywhere.


Swerve Strickland is with Renee Paquette. Strickland laughs about Samoa Joe calling him a choke artist. Strickland said he has struggled and stumbled throughout his own career, but always finds success despite the adversity. Strickland says that this Sunday at Dynasty, Joe will call him the new AEW World Champion.

Renee asked Swerve what makes him so confident? Strickland says he will answer Joe direct and got up close to the camera and said he’ll tell Joe to his face in the ring later on tonight.


Deonna Purrazzo VS Mariah May (w/Toni Storm, Luther)


May had Purrazzo down, but Purrazzo caught May in a Fujiwara armbar. The lock was broken once May reached the ropes. Purrazzo went for a powerbomb, but May slipped away and then hit Purrazzo with a Headbutt. May with the hip attack in the corner and a DDT for a near fall. Purrazzo countered a move and got May into a pin attempt for the three.

Winner: Deonna Purrazzo

After the match, Toni Storm attacked Deonna Purrazzo. Thunder Rosa came out and took out Luther. Purrazzo and Rosa still didn’t see eye to eye, and they got into a shoving match after Rosa made the save. May took out Purrazzo, but Rosa was able to get a one up on Storm. With Storm down, Rosa paints all over Storm’s face with lipstick until Luther helped Storm out of the ring.


Bullet Club Gold are backstage as Jay White challenged The Acclaimed to a winner-takes-all match with the Ring of Honor Six Man Tag Team Titles and the AEW Trios Championships.

The Acclaimed accepted the match and say it will take place this Sunday at AEW Dynasty: Zero Hour.


Orange Cassidy defeated Shane Taylor (w/ Lee Moriarty and Anthony Ogogo)


Taylor sent Cassidy to ringside and then distracted the referee. With this distraction, Moriarty worked over Cassidy, and then through him back in the ring. Taylor hit Cassidy in the corner with a splash. Shortly after, Cassidy is forced to take out Ogogo and Moriarty.

Cassidy followed this up with an Orange Punch, but Taylor ducks. Taylor immediately hit a clothesline, but Cassidy with a duck of his own, but Taylor with a quick Clothesline that takes Cassidy out. After coming back from more beat downs at the hands of Taylor, Cassidy hits an Orang Punch for the win.

Winner: Orange Cassidy

After the match, Lee Moriarty and Anthony Ogogo attack Orange Cassidy. Christopher Daniels and Matt Sydal come for the save, but are taken out by Trent Beretta and his chair. Shane Taylor Promotions lays their flag over a knocked out Cassidy.


A video package hypes the Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly storyline to set up their AEW International Championship match for AEW Dynasty


Will Ospreay VS Claudio Castagnoli


Don Callis sat in on commentary. With Castagnoli on the outside of the ring, Ospreay dove onto him, but Castagnoli caught Ospreay and slammed him onto the apron. After some Castagnoli offense, Ospreay came back with a Tiger Driver 2-count. Castagnoli with a Clothesline for a 2-count of his own. Ospreay mounted a comeback and goes for a Tiger Driver, but Castagnoli stops it abd hits Ospreay with an uppercut. Castagnoli sets up for the Ricola Bomb, but Ospreay countered into a pin for near fall. Ospreay with some kicks and attempted to go for an OsCutter, but Castagnoli caught him and slammed him to the mat for another near fall.

After some back and forth, Ospreay hits a standing Spanish Fly for a nearfall. Ospreay was frustrated and removed his elbow pad. Ospreay attempted a Hidden Blade, but Castagnoli cut him off and hit a popup uppercut. Castagnoli went for the giant swing, but Ospreay countered into a DDT, and then hit a Cancun Tornado for yet another near fall. With Castagnoli slow to get up, Ospreay hits the Hidden Blade for the win.

Winner: Will Osrpeay

The Don Callis Family hits the ring and attacked Castagnoli. Jon Moxley made his way out and goes straight for Hobbs. Moxley took out Hobbs. Ospreay was upset with Callis and the Family as he didn’t want them involved in his business. Ospreay leaves…


One Final Meeting between Joe and Strickland


Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana are out. Strickland says he knows he’s gonna beat Samoa Joe on Sunday because he saw the fear in his eyes last week. Swerve then asked for Joe to come out so he can talk to him like a man.

Samoa Joe tried to come out but he was surrounded by security. Swerve dove onto the security from the top rope. Swerve and Joe were face-to-face and then they began to brawl. Joe got the best of Strickland. Joe gets in the ring and corners Prince Nana but Strickland saved Nana.

Swerve hits Joe with the House Call but Joe comes right back and hits Swerve with a Muscle Buster and stands over him with the title to close the show.
