NJPW has announced the list of those who will be competing in this year’s G1 Climax tournament. The participants include many faces that haven’t appeared in NJPW since the promotion returned to action in June either due to the pandemic or injury.
Jeff Cobb, Will Ospreay, Juice Robinson and Jay White will all be part of the tournament.
This year’s G1 Climax will have 20 competitors and will start on September 19th in Osaka. There will be 19 G1 events and the tournament will last an entire month.

The winner of the tournament is rewarded with a contact for an IWGP Heavyweight Championship match at the Wrestle Kingdom Tokyo Dome show on January 4th. Often the winner has been forced to, made to or opts to put that contact on the line before Wrestle Kingdom.
