This week on Impact Wrestling, a tournament to determine the number one contender for the Impact World Championship kicked off. Plus, Moose “defended” his self-proclaimed TNA World Heavyweight Championship in the main event against Suicide. Find out these results and more on this week’s edition of Impact Wrestling!
-Video package for TNA World Heavyweight Champion Moose features out-of-context cut clips of praise for him from former TNA stars like Bobby Roode, Hulk Hogan, and Bully Ray. This was a really funny way to kick off the show and I like them trying to get Moose over with all the TNA throwbacks.
–Impact World Championship Contenders Tournament First Round: Hernandez defeated Madman Fulton by pinfall with a top rope splash.
-Video promo from “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin asks why he has to prove himself in a tournament when he is the number one contender and says what happens in the tournament is on Impact Wrestling’s hands.
-oVe argued backstage and Crazzy Steve said oVe is “oVer.” Jake Crist put Dave Crist in a match with Steve next week. Joseph P. Ryan said Steve’s name is offensive to crazy people.
–Kylie Rae defeated Tasha Steelz by submission with the Smile to the Finish STF.
-Video promo from Rohit Raju asks when he is going to get his big break and says his name will become one with respect after he defeats Trey tonight in the tournament.
-Susie introduces herself to Kylie Rae, but doesn’t seem to remember them meeting.
–Kimber Lee defeated Havok by pinfall with a brass knuckles punch. Neveah once again watched Havok from the shadows near side of the stage and caused a distraction.
-Video package for Kiera Hogan says she is the hottest flame.
-Locker Room Talk with Madison Rayne and Johnny Swinger featured Ken Shamrock. Michael Elgin laid him out with a chair shot and gave him a con-chair-to after telling him that the championship is his.
-Video promo from Sami Callihan says “Big Mike” has always followed in his footsteps since day one in wrestling. Their footsteps converge next week in the tournament and Callihan will do whatever it takes to win.
–Impact World Championship Contenders Tournament First Round: Trey defeated Rohit Raju by pinfall with a small package counter to Raju’s fisherman’s suplex.
-Video package shows Cody Deaner’s antics from his trailer in Kwaranteen.
–Impact World Tag Team Championships: The North (c) defeated “two schmoes” by pinfall with the Burning Hammer spinebuster combo to retain the titles.
-Video from Rosemary at the shows her talking to her bunny plush and Taya Valkyrie’s plush dog. John E. Bravo comes in and takes the “Mr. Mundo” plush back. Bravo yells at Rosemary and walks off. Rosemary gets a sign from “The Hive” and says “no, him?” Rosemary smiles and takes a bite from an apple as she considers the idea.
-Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Week shows AJ Styles defeating Matt Hardy at TNA Victory Road 2011.
-Chris Bey meets Johnny Swinger and says that Impact X Division Champion Willie Mack has been dissing him by saying he was the star of the Mack and Pack Connection. Swinger says he is going to go romping and stomping into the locker room for Mack now.
-Swinger catches up with Mack and tells him he has gotten a big head and he will take him off his high horse to become the Impact X Division Champion. Mack says all he had to do was ask and gives him a title match next week.
–Self-Proclaimed TNA World Heavyweight Champion Moose defeated Suicide by pinfall with a low blow followed by a No Jackhammer Needed spear to defend the title.
