Things will get down and dirty in the National Wrestling Alliance, as the feud between “Thrillbilly” Silas Mason heats up against Bryan Idol in a Falls Count Anywhere match. It truly is The Looks The Kill as these big men are looking to bludgeon each other all over and outside the squared circle, so don’t expect things to get pretty in this episode of NWA Powerrr.
We again come to you from the Dothan Civic Center in Dothan, AL. Joe Galli and Danny Dealz have the call for the start of the Looks that Kill signature event, and your First Match of the Night is for the…
NWA Junior Heavyweight Championship: Alex Taylor (c) vs. Joe Ocasio
Ocasio is looking to make a name for himself and take the title away from “Too Hot to Trot” Taylor. They lock up and it’s a feeling-out process by both men. Taylor goes for an arm drag but can’t bring down the Long Island Landmine, and Ocasio shows how it’s done with his arm drags and then a spinning body slam. He tries to chop the stocky Ocasio and Taylor instantly regrets it. He swings with a clothesline and misses but catches the ropes. Ocasio grabs him and attempts a suplex but Taylor clips him with an enzugiri and goes for a dive, but decides to show Dothan fans why he is Too Hot to Trot. Now he leaps outside and gets caught by Ocasio, who proceeds to ram him into the ring post spine first. He tries to follow up with a military press but Taylor wriggles out and gets him shoved shoulder-first into the steel steps. The champ is looking good as we go to…
Ads (Yeah, you know how I feel when it’s the middle of a match, so let’s crack on.)
We come back and Taylor is in the driver’s seat with a suplex and a lackadaisical cover only gets a two count. Ocasio tries to fight back, but Taylor is a step ahead with a mat-based blockbuster. As he cinches in a headlock, Ocasio fights up to a vertical base but eats a dropkick and Taylor covers for another count of two. He signals for the Green Whistle and Ocasio escapes the finisher. Taylor goes to the top turnbuckle and gets rocked by the Landmine’s fist, and Galli notes Taylor “is seeing stars in the Southern sky.” Ocasio positions himself up top and nails a superplex that wipes out both men. The ref starts to count them out both men, but they get back up and it’s a slugfest. Ocasio manages to get the upper hand with a backbody drop to a splash in the corner and then follows into a running frog splash to cover for a near fall. Ocasio charges at him and Taylor manages to get an inside cradle but can’t make the pin count. Taylor comes back with a running dropkick for another two count, but Ocasio manages to nail a running head butt but the force makes Taylor roll out to avoid a pin cover. He’s had enough and goes to the timekeeper table and grabs the belt, but Ocasio is close behind him and he gives the champ a back body drop on the steel steps, as Taylor cries out in pain. They get back in the ring and Taylor quickly makes his way to the ropes and hangs on for dear life. Ocasio tries to pull him off but gets a thumb to the eye, and the ref did not see it happen. As Ocasio is dazed, Taylor delivers the Green Whistle to end it decisively.
Your Winner via Pinfall, and Still NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion: Alex Taylor
Kyle Davis was backstage earlier in the day with the Cazanas. Papa Joe makes it clear that Drake got lucky when he won the NWA Television title against Max The Impaler and says his luck is not gonna happen again with The Country Gentlemen. AJ chimes in and promises that The Slimeballz are “gonna gets a Grade-A East Tennessee ass whooping,” as Joe assures us that when it’s gonna happen, it’s gonna be by the book.
Carson Drake cuts a promo with the rebuttal on their chances of The Cazanas beating him and The Slimeballz. Sage Chantz and Tommy Rant are chowing down on some bread and offer it to Drake to “Carb up.” Drake politely declines, as he is on a keto diet. Drake then lets us know that they are gonna win tonight, but it won’t be by the book. The Slimeballz loudly proclaim it would be, “by the Ballz.” But not, Drake corrects as he states it will be won by Carson Bartholomew Drake.
Which leads to your next match and it is a…
Six-man Tag Team Match: The Country Gentlemen (AJ and KC Cazana, with Joe Cazana) vs. Carson Drake and The Slimeballz (Sage Chantz and Tommy Rant)
I have to agree with Galli on this one as he correctly points out Opposites attract, and they don’t get more opposite than this tag team combo.
Rant and KC start in the ring, and White Lightning slaps the taste out of the Slimeball right away, and then he and AJ land a double elbow drop for a pin, and Chantz breaks the cover. A jawbreaker to AJ allows Rant to break free and get a tag to Chantz. AJ picks him up with ease into a fireman’s carry and Chantz grabs his nose to force the Bullhead Brute to release. AJ goes to the corner where Drake stuns him on the top rope and Chantz comes back with double knees to get a two count. Now Papa Joe tags in, as does Drake who drops the patriarch and gets a little ahead of himself as he does a celebratory dance. Joe trips him up and mounts with punches, which leaves Drake to scamper to his corner and tag back to Chantz. They lock up but Joe maneuvers the smaller Slimeball to the Gentlemen’s corner. KC whips him to the corner and a splash misses. Rant comes back in and he uses Chantz as a spear (which Dealz dubbed “The Snot Rocket”), but it only succeeds in another two count.
Rant shoots KC to the ropes unaware of the blind tag by AJ. As KC ducks out AJ clears house, and again Rant is a Slimeball in Peril as The Cazana clan takes turns stomping him. At one point Chantz gets a tag but the ref doesn’t see it and Rant is still in the wrong part of town. AJ nails Rant with a fireman’s carry to a slam and then adds the exclamation point with a clothesline.
He goes up top to rile up the Alabama crowd and goes for the Vader bomb and belly flops in the center of the ring. A hot tag to Drake but he gets the brunt of the Gentlemen’s fury, as KC adds his version of the Jackie Fargo Strut to a leg drop. From there, it becomes a Pier Six brawl and Rant in the ring with Joe, who drills The Slimeball with a DDT. Before he can capitalize, Drake comes back in, scoops Joe into a cradle since he is still the legal man, and pulls off the three count.
Your Winners via Pinfall, The Slimeballz, and Carson Drake
I gotta say, as odd as this pairing is, it’s got some potential. Let’s see how long it lasts.
Now it’s time for your Main Event and it’s a…
Falls Count Anywhere Match: Bryan Idol vs. “Thrillbilly” Silas Mason
As Idol soaks in the cheers, when Mason’s intro music hits a steel chair gets thrown out, starling even Galli and Dealz. Mason is all business wearing a Tennessee Vols chain, and then he uses the chair to smack the timekeeper table where Davis is sitting.
Once the bell rings they go for broke. Mason misses a running back elbow, and Idol capitalizes with a running knee, followed by a sling blade. Mason attempts a running big boot and he gets caught up in the ropes, and Idol sends him out of the ring. He goes for a dive and Idol’s head gets smacked in midair by the steel chair Mason brought with him, and he drops and lands awkwardly on the concrete floor. The ref rushes out to check on Idol as Mason paces around the ring until finally the bell is called.
While there is no official winner, it’s safe to assume Mason is the winner. While camera angles focus on Mason berating the Dothan fans, you can see in the corner the ref holding his hands up in the air to give the “X” as other refs and staff come out to check on Idol. We even hear from Galli that EMTs had been summoned to ringside. Mason gets in the ring, as does Davis on the unexpected end, and Big Daddy Thrill states this shouldn’t have happened since no one in Dothan can count to three. He then directs his comments to Idol who’s still being attended, and lets us know, “The problem with your collarbone is the same problem with your head. It’s the same problem with your hands, it’s the same problem with your heart; it’s attached to a coward’s body.” Mason then makes it clear that he will be your next NWA World’s Heavyweight champion as the show goes to the credits.

NWA POWERR - 02/18/2025
Final Thoughts:
Not quite the finish you would expect from the Main Event, but it is not the last time we are gonna hear from Idol/Mason as this is just going to continue their rivalry. The last time I saw something that scary and unexpected was at NWA 75 between Tim Storm and the late Jax Dane, so I can only imagine what was going on at the time the show was taped.
Again, I had doubts about the pairing of The Slimeballz and Drake, but it seems to be a hit with the fans.
Until then, see ya next Tuesday.
