Veteran professional wrestler Christopher Daniels, famously known as the “Fallen Angel,” has officially announced his retirement from in-ring competition. At the age of 54, Daniels decided during the January 22, 2025, episode of AEW Dynamite. He revealed that medical advice had led him to step away from wrestling.
Daniels’ retirement comes after his match against “Hangman” Adam Page in a Texas Death Match at AEW Collision: Maximum Carnage on January 18, 2025. During his address on Dynamite, while wearing a neck brace, Daniels expressed regret over the escalation of their feud. He shared that doctors had advised him to never wrestle again. In his final words, he concluded, “This was goodbye.”
Following his announcement, Daniels took to X to express his emotions, stating:
