It feels like there hasn’t been any wrestling on since last week Thursday! (Stop rolling your eyes at me. That’s funny.)

Before you say “Stop Playing With Me”, just know that I legit couldn’t sleep until “6 In The Mornin'” today. The weather’s getting nicer finally, on the bright side, prompting “Mr. Ice Cream Man” to start up for the season. Let’s hope all the ice cream truck drivers know their routes, lest they wonder “Where Do We Go From Here?” Hopefully they don’t get overrun with too many children at once or they might say “I Need An Armored Truck”. Worse yet, hopefully they don’t end up on a “Lonely Road”. The drivers and children will need to understand this: “You Need Me And I Need You”. But hopefully parents know when to cut off the supply as the kids don’t want to end up with brain freeze after having “Too Much”. Rumor has it that one truck will no longer be around for my area. I heard the driver “Woke Up A Millionaire” and his “Pockets Gone’ Stay Fat”. The rumor mill also said he stuck his “Middle Finga” to the streets he’d driven for many a summer. But don’t quote me on that.

Okay. It’s out of my system now. MAKE ‘EM SAY UHHHHHH.

To start us off, Tony Schiavone welcomes Master P to the ring. He gives the fans what they want right off the bat. UHHHHHHH

He introduces The Opps to the ring and Samoa Joe gets in on the UHHHHHHHHs. The Opps are here for a celebration. The Death Riders’ music hits and Marina Shafir walks in. But she’s only the distraction as Moxley, Castagnoli, and Yuta attack the AEW Trios Champs from behind. Master P is in the ring and Moxley threatens him with a glare. Samoa Joe hits the Clutch from behind Moxley, choking him out again.

The Young Bucks and Okada rush out, no music, with a chair to “save” AEW Men’s Heavyweight Champion Jon Moxley. Marina Shafir gets him out before he can deal with them.

The Elite save Jon Moxley from the wrath of Samoa Joe for a second straight week!

Swerve’s music hits and The Elite look like they’re trapped. They are, because – as they go up the ramp – Kenny Omega walks out with a chair. WHOSE HOUSE?

Samoa Joe calls out Moxley after the heels all scatter. He’s coming for the title. Swerve has that look on his face like he’s not 100% on board with that plan.

Renee Paquette is backstage with The Patriarchy. Christian Cage steals the spotlight but new ROH World Television Champion Nick Wayne looks ticked, with good reason. Wayne says he stuck to the plan and it got him a title. Cage says “I love my family” and walks away.

1. Ricochet vs. Mark Briscoe

With Taz back on commentary, he says HOOK is recovering and that he’ll “do what he has to do” when the time comes.

With the match underway, Ricochet heads out of the ring and finds a bald fan in the front row. The two seem to console each other stating “they’re making fun of us”.

Redneck Kung-Fu seems to be getting the best of Ricochet in the bald battle. I didn’t see Ricochet consoling his opponent when the crowd chanted “bald!” But it’s also because everyone loves Mark Briscoe. What’s the word of the day?

Referee Paul Turner gets pulled in the way as Briscoe was going for a move in the turnbuckle. He gains the upper hand.

Ricochet instigates a spit take as he tries to readjust the jaw of Mark Briscoe!

Briscoe gathers momentum and dives at Ricochet. He doesn’t connect on a Running Bulldog but gives Ricochet a number of smacks on the top of his head. Ricochet goes for a Jackknife cover but no dice. He gets Northern Lights and fluidly transitions into a Brainbuster.

Briscoe calls for a Froggy Beaux but it doesn’t connect. Ricochet uses the ropes to stifle Briscoe and connects on a 450 Shooting Star Press. Two on the count.

Ricochet tries a pinfall using the ropes but Briscoe counters.

Winner: Mark Briscoe.

Ricochet re-enters the ring with a chair. What did Briscoe ever do to that chair? He pulls the Golden Scissors out of the turnbuckle but Kevin Knight rushes out.  Knight grabs the scissors and Ricochet high-tails it.

The Rock ‘N Roll Express are in the crowd!

FTR make their return to Dynamite after their callous turn on Cope at Dynasty in Philadelphia. Tony Schiavone stands in the ring and introduces them. He’s interrupted by Stokely Hathaway, who makes the introduction instead.

Stokely Hathaway calls what FTR did an “accident” and lists others in the promotion (like Adam Page and Jon Moxley) who’ve gotten away with “crimes”. He aims to clear their record and reimburse their fines.

FTR call out Daniel Garcia, claiming his success was their doing. Dax Harwood calls the Rock ‘N Roll Express to the ring. This isn’t going to end well. Harwood interrupts all of their answers after he asks them questions. Not the sharpest journalist. Stokely stops it before it gets ugly, plugging a new shirt. YEAH. So much for no hostility.. Dax hits a Spiked Piledriver on Ricky. Robert gets hit by Cash Wheeler.

Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, and Kyle O’Reilly rush out to make the save as FTR slither out of the ring.

2. Matthew and Nicholas Jackson vs. “Speedball” Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight

Bailey starts against Matthew and the other two get involved as they get their legs locked in air.

The Young Bucks put together a number of creative tag moves, taking full control. The EVPs maintain that control through a commercial break. Picture-in-picture is a beautiful thing.

Matthew counters with two Northern Lights, connecting with Bailey and nailing both opponents on the third one. Kevin Knight kicks out of a tricky spot at about 2.8 seconds, giving both Jackson brothers pause before they get back to their offense.

Nicholas and Bailey connect on synchronized kicks… TWICE!

HOT DAMN

Knights hits a double DDT. He gets prevented from capitalizing as Ricochet interferes. BOO!

Winners: The Young Bucks.

Renee Paquette is backstage with “Timeless” Toni Storm and Luther. Storm issues a challenge on Saturday and Queen Aminata responds immediately. If Queen Aminata wins, she gets a shot at Storm’s title.

The Hurt Syndicate enter the ring dressed to the nines. MVP points out that every team to cross The Hurt Syndicate has not been seen since. Bobby Lashley grabs the mic but the big screen shows MJF arriving and interrupting the one guy you probably don’t want to interrupt.

MJF asks for all three thumbs one more time. MVP approves. Shelton teases before giving his approval. He grounds MJF, saying MVP is the reason Benjamin put his thumb up. It all comes to “Bob”, as MJF calls him. MJF urges him, saying he brings a different knowledge to the team. A knowledge of how to win and cut corners. He says they can run professional wrestling if they let him join. MJF wants to say “sorry” but the word can’t come out of his mouth for some reason. The crowd gets into it and he finally says it, looking out of breath.

MJF tempts Bobbly with the car if he gives him his thumb up. Lashley asks for the keys and MJF urges them to talk a walk. They go to the back. Lashley and Benjamin get in the car and he drives off after thumbs down.

That did NOT go the way MJF expected…

Renee Paquette is backstage with Adam Page. He’s fuming. MJF interrupts. Page calls him “Matthew”. He says MJF should drive home… Not that he’ll be able to anymore. They tease a rubber match. Props to Renee for dealing with everyone’s drama.

3. Will Ospreay and Brody King vs. Josh Alexander and Konosuke Takeshita

Brody King is all business but the two are on the same page. Lance Archer and Don Callis come out with their opponents. This already reeks of interference but who knows?

Ospreay and Takeshita start us off. The two lock hands but Alexander attacks Ospreay from behind. They take control of Ospreay but he fights his way back against Alexander, tagging in King. Ospreay gets dropped onto their opponents by King, surprising everyone.

They’re on the same page and Ospreay is all good. Don Callis admits that he himself is afraid of Brody King.

Alexander and Takeshita take control of Ospreay, isolating him and showing some crazy good chemistry for only being together a week. Ospready is able to make a tag and Brody King goes to work. The crowd chants “MEAT!” as he and Takeshita do battle.

Brody King nailing a Tope Suicida was not on my Dynamite Bingo card. He takes control almost too easily. Callis says King’s so big that “he could be a tag team by himself”. Not sure he’s wrong about that. Takeshita hits a Blue Thunder Bomb on Ospreay but only two on the count.

At the same time, a graphic shows Beach Break May 14, where Samoa Joe will challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW Men’s Heavyweight Championship! We have a match going on, ladies and gentlemen!

Brody King hits Alexander with a cannonball. Lance Archer gets involved as King looks for a cover. Alexander suplexes Brody King. He fights back, staying alive however he can one-on-two. He gets overrun by his opponents.

Winners: Josh Alexander and Konosuke Takeshita.

The two continue hurting their opponents after the win. Lance Archer chokeslams Ospreay. That’s a big drop, folks. Kyle Fletcher comes out, his attention on Ospreay. “Hangman” Adam Page is ready to get involved. He gets jumped by Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero as he makes his way to the ring.

Too many men. That’s not a penalty in wrestling, apparently.

4. Jamie Hayter vs. Kris Statlander in the Semi-Final of the Owen Hart Women’s Tournament

The winner will face Mercedes Mone at Double or Nothing in the Final of the tournament May 25 in Phoenix.

These two seem to be as evenly matched as can be to start off. Statlander gets the advantage with an inner leg sweep on the edge of the apron, dropping Hayter on her back. Hayter dodges the follow-up and Statlander falls flat on the outside of the ring.

Pool is empty!

Statlander locks in a Dragon Sleeper but Hayter fights out and locks her legs around Statlander’s head. She fights back, a showcase of strength as she gets to her feet and drops Hayter face first.

Hayter connects with a Hayte Breaker. She only earns two on the count. Statlander connects with a 450 Splash but screams out “Aubrey!” after only getting two on the count before Hayter kicks out.

Two big lariats seal it.

Winner: Jamie Hayter.

Mercedes Mone comes out clapping and taunting Hayter. The two exchange words as Mone stands by the trophy. Hayter encourages her to come to the ring but Mone refuses.
