There are those who have speculated that AAA was put into a position to be purchased by WWE due to money woes.

AAA talent director, Victor Manuel Resendiz Ruiz (The Latin Lover) is refuting that speculation, those claims in an interview with Infobae.

“Wrestling pages say, ‘Now what’s going to happen to Latin? It was sold because of red numbers.’ About the red numbers, I’m being honest. I never saw red numbers. I never even saw three-quarters of a venue’s capacity,” Ruiz stated. “So, those pages that say, ‘There were red numbers.’ Who the hell invests in a company that’s not working? They invested in a company they know will be redirected. And today, as Triple H said, they’re not going to change anything about the Mexican style of wrestling—its essence will remain.”

It is rumoured that AAA sold for $50 million. Ruiz cannot confirm or deny that fact.

“If it was sold for $50 million as some say, no. Honestly, I don’t care. I tell my fellow wrestlers, if you’re smart, you’ll see this as a huge opportunity. Why? Because how many Mexican wrestlers have pursued the American dream, have tried to be part of the biggest company in the world, which is WWE. How many? Look at how Penta left, how people applauded him, congratulated him—because not just anyone can do that,” he said.

He explained that AAA has more opportunities than ever before because of the sale.

“The wrestlers who are active—I’m no longer active—I’m not speaking for myself, I’m speaking for those who are still wrestling. They’re going to have better opportunities. They’ll have better exposure, they’ll have the chance to share the ring with major international figures,” he said.

Worlds Collide featuring NXT, WWE and NXT stars is set to air June 7th.
