The Paige sisters have seen success in the National Wrestling Alliance and beyond as they are the owners of the Kross Fire Wrestling promotion.  Now Kylie and Kenzie want to ascend the women’s tag ranks once again. Standing in their way are Tiffany Nieves and Reka Tehaka, and they want another chance at the women’s tag title belts.

Are Kenzie and Kylie Pretty Empowered to stop them in their tracks?

Here’s what’s led up to this feud:

We come to you from the PowerrrStation in Tampa, FL. Joe Galli and Danny Dealz have the call as we kick off the show with The First Match of the Night with mixed tag team action between…

The Looks That Kill (Bryan Idol and Natalia Markova) vs. AJ Cazana and Taylor Rising

Idol and Cazana start the match and the Bullheaded Brute is dominant early on.  He shoves Idol to the corner and Markova tags in, so he backs off to tag in Rising.  Markova picks up where Idol left off and nails a split leg drop for a two count, but Rising gains the upper hand with a huracanrana and a bulldog for a count of two herself.  The men tag back in, and they lay in some heavy hands.  Cazana rocks Idol but can’t put him away, and then he connects with an Oklahoma Stampede to cover, and Markova breaks the count.  He isn’t too pleased with that, and before Cazana can get his point across, Markova nails him with a superkick.  Tag to Rising and now she and Markova are in the mix, but The Russian Crush nails her with a knee strike to cover, and Cazana returns the receipt by stopping the count.  He’s just about had it with her and goes to swing but Idol blocks his punch and Markova follows with the Beautiful Disaster.  Rising comes in and uses the distraction to spike Markova with a hangman facebuster and covers but Idol interferes.  Cazana tackles Idol and they tumble to the outside, but it’s all for naught as Markova connects with the  Beautiful Disaster in the corner and the double underhook DDT finishes the job.

Your Winners via Pinfall:  Bryan Idol and Natalia Markova

The Southern Six are backstage and Alex Taylor, Kerry Morton, and “Thrillbilly” Silas Mason make the case they are the past and the future of professional wrestling.  They will be heading Back to the Territories in Tennessee, and it’s getting hot down there as the stars shine over the Southern sky.  And when you’re hot, you’re not.

But when you’re not…eh, best to walk away.

There is a recap of the promo with Dumas and The Kidz if you missed it if you wanna watch below.

In any case, that leads to the next match, and it is a…

Six-Man Tag Team Match: “Magic” Jake Dumas and The Slimeballz (Sage Chantz and Tommy Rant) vs. Carson Drake and The Kidz (Alexander Lev and Jackson Drake)

So far, The Kidz have managed to secure wins over The Slimeballz in previous matches.  Will the same hold true in this six-man tag?

Dumas wants to start against Carson, but he wants Jackson. Maybe it’s because they have the same last name (no relation, of course).  Carson stops a boot, but can’t stop Jackson’s right hand across his face.  Chantz is upset by that, and that gives Jackson time to renew their rivalry with The Slimeballz.  Lev tags in but Rant and Chantz finally manage to take over.  Rant gives what’s called a Balled Barrage to Lev (think of it as Daniel Garcia’s aggressive pelvis thrusting, only…not).  Carson tags in, and he and The SLimeballz provide all sorts of pain to Lev, who is a Kid in Peril.  He manages to escape their corner and get the hot tag to Dumas and he is a Magic Bastard en fuego.  Dumas knocks out Carson over the top rope to the floor, and Lev blind tags in.  The Slimeballz are still more than a match, and as Jackson tries to insert himself in the match, Rant and Chantz send the Carolina Reaper out of the ring.  The Slimeballz delivers to Lev a Snot Rocket (a mucus-filled assisted Superfly splash) that gives them the pin and the win.

Your Winners via Pinfall:  Carson Drake and The Slimeballz

Hey, let’s hear it for persistence on Rant and Chantz’s part.

Aron Stevens is backstage now with the NWA World Tag Team Champions, Blunt Force Trauma.  Stevens is annoyed they will put up their tag titles once again versus Trevor Murdoch and Mike Knox, but he’s not worried about that.  Nor is he concerned that Eric Smalls will be in their corner since it’s a minor inconvenience if you will.  He promises they will head to Back to the Territories as champions and will come back with the same titles.

Kyle Davis is joined at ringside by the NWA Women’s World Tag Champions, The King Bees.  He asks their thoughts on Kenzie Paige claiming she and her sister will be double champs. Danni Bee says that won’t happen, and Charity King points out they beat her sister and Envy for those same titles and managed to defend it in the rematch.  In short, King emphatically states if anyone wants to step into their kingdom they best prepare for a fight.

There is another OnlySlams vignette, and…okay, I think I had my fill of sexual innuendo.

Up next is women’s action with…

Ella Envy (with Miss Starr) vs Missa Kate

Envy and Starr have made for quite the tandem, so let’s see if that translates to wins.

They tie up but Envy quickly gets Kate in a headscissor takedown.  She’s got the hold cinched in but the Chicago native manages to fight out.  She goes for a headlock, and Envy rolls out to talk strategy with Starr. Kate goes after her on the outside and Starr runs interference.  Envy tries to use the opportunity to take control but Kate still has the upper hand.  She’s got her locked in a hold in the center of the ring, and then Kate takes out her gum and tries to stick it in her mouth but Envy has had enough and gets out of the hold and sends the gum flying into the crowd.

Ew, gross.

She slams Kate’s head into the top turnbuckles, but she is enjoying it and returns the receipt to Envy.  A running knee strike later allows Kate a two count and she gets ready for her finisher in the corner.  Starr pulls her leg, and once distracted, Envy takes advantage with a reverse STO facebuster to claim the tainted victory.

Your Winner via Pinfall:  Ella Envy

There is a video package where Kenzie Paige is being interviewed on what it means to be the NWA Women’s Champ.  She gives the standard answers, and states holding The Burke means that she is a dependable asset to the NWA.

You can tell Kenzie has come a long way since her debut.

It’s now time for the main event and it is a…

Women’s Tag Team Match: Kenzie and Kylie Paige vs. Reka Tehaka and Tiffany Nieves

The bell rings and Kenzie and Nieves are in the middle of the squared circle.  They lock up and neither woman is backing down.  Once Tehaka steps in, the ref tries to get her back before making a tag.  Nieves uses the opportunity to poke Kenzie in the eye, and now Tehaka tags in.  She is having trouble overcoming the Samoan star as Tehaka connects with a nasty backbreaker to Kenzie and then covers for a two count.  She then sets the champ on her shoulders in a fireman’s carry to unleash a Samoan drop.  Kenzie wriggles out and Kylie tags in and they show Nieves and Tehaka why they are Pretty Empowered with double team action.  They take a powder to the outside and the Paige sisters follow behind to nail stereo dropkicks.  As chaos briefly reigns, Kylie and Tehaka are in the ring.  Tehaka is simply too powerful for Kylie to overcome, and she and Nieves isolate her in their corner to ensure she is Pretty Much in Peril.  Nieves trips up Kenzie on the outside, and the champ is incensed as she grabs The Burk, but gets stopped by the ref.  Kylie fights through and delivers a sunset flip powerbomb for the one, two, and three.

Your Winners via Pinfall:  Kenzie and Kylie Paige

Ok, I did not see that coming.

In any case, the Paige sisters show the fans they are a force in the Women’s tag division as the show goes to the credits.

2.5

Final Thoughts:

This was an OK show.  The Women’s tag match was good, but the finish was a bit off to me for some reason.  I kinda felt like more was meant to happen, but it was cut short.

The other matches were just as good but were more of a placeholder for the matches that will be featured next week as a CW signature event, Back to the Territories.

We’ll see what else they have in store, as well as the matches they will tape for NWA 76 this week.  So see ya next Tuesday!
