Eighteen events, cards later and we have our G1 Climax finalists.
It will be Zack Sabre Jr. versus Yota Tsuji in the finals of the G1 Climax tournament tomorrow night.
Sabre defeated Shingo Takagi in G1 Climax semi-finals to become the winner of A Block while Yota Tsuji beat David Finlay to become the B Block winner.
Sabre finished the tournament with a 7 -2 record. Tsuji had a 5 – 4 record.
Finlay wanted to powerbomb Tsuji through two table but he only went through one. Tsuji barely made it back into the ring. He kicked out at two as Finlay went for the win. Tsuji also kicked out of Oblivion. A frustrated Finlay mounted Tsuji delivering haymaker after haymaker. The official pulled Finlay off Tsuji. Finlay threw him to the mat. The crowd booed Finlay. He flipped them off. Tsuji kicked out of another Finlay powerbomb. Finlay gave him a buckle bomb and yet another powerbomb. Tsuji kicked out again. Finlay buckle bombed him again but Tsuji turned an attempted powerbomb into a roll-up for a two count.
Finlay kicked out of a spear and Tsuji’s stomp from the top rope. A second spear pinned Finlay.
Sabre managed to withstand all of Takagi’s power and strength to nail him with a Zach Driver and a leg lock submission to claim his spot in the finals.
The winner of the G1 Climax tournament earns a shot at the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestle Kingdom.
