Greetings and salutations. We are coming off Double or Nothing this past weekend and this week on the show we are on the road to Forbidden Door. This week on the show we will find out who the newest challenger to the AEW championship will be as we will have a Forbidden Door Casino Gauntlet. Also on the show we will hear from the EVP’s, The Young Bucks as they will let us know the future of the TNT Championship as Adam Copeland was injured at Double or Nothing. We will also hear from Mercedes Moné as she celebrates her TBS Championship victory. With all of this and more, let’s get straight to the action.


The TBS Champion Talks


The show kicks off with New TBS champion Mercedes Moné coming out. She says Willow Nightingale is way too nice and when she comes back, she wants her to get even and kick Kris Statlander’s ass. Moné  then said she knows she has a target on her back. Skye Blue appears on the Khan-O-Tron and reveals that it was her that attacked Mercedes several weeks ago. While Moné was watching the screen, Blue comes up behind Moné  and attacks her, leaving her laying in the middle of the ring.

We get a video package recapping Sunday’s Double or Nothing PPV.


AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland VS Killswitch


The match starts off with Strickland hitting a chop on Killswitch. Killswitch then clotheslines Strickland that sends him to ringside. Killswitch wanted to follow him out there, but Strickland hits him with a dropkick through the ropes sending him back in the ring. Later in the match, Killswitch gets Strickland on the apron and grabs a chair from the timekeeper’s area and right before he can use it, Prince Nana grabs it from him.

Killswitch then kicks the chair out of Nana’s hand. Strickland attacks Killswitch with a series of kicks and a Swerve Stomp off the apron. Strickland then gets Killswitch back into the ring, then climbs to the top rope, but Killswitch shoots up and charges for Strickland, but Swerve jumps down. Strickland looks for a House Call, but Killswitch turns it into a Chokeslam. Soon after this, Strickland finally hits the House Call and the Swerve Stomp. Strickland goes for the pin, but Killswitch gets up, but Strickland hits a second House Call for the win.

Winner: Swerve Strickland

After the match, Strickland gets a pair of scissors and cuts off Killswitch’s braid.


Tony Schiavone then announces that Mercedes Moné will defend her TBS Championship later on tonight against Skye Blue.

Jon Moxley is backstage in a stairwell. He says that its a bad idea to be taking an Eliminator Match against Rocky Romero tonight because he’s still feeling hurt., but he said that’s what champions do. Moxley lists off all of his upcoming matches and says he will continue to be the man to stand on top of New Japan, AEW and wherever else he wants to go.


The Learning Tree…


Big Bill introduces Jericho down and he thanks everyone and claims he is the longest reigning FTW Champion of all time. After some words of wisdom, he invites ‘Bounty Hunter’ Bryan Keith down as he helped him at Double or Nothing.

Jericho asks why he wanted to be part of The Learning Tree. Keith says there is a lack of respect for Jericho and he’s surprised more people wouldn’t  jump at the opportunity. He yells for everyone to show Jericho respect.

Hook comes out and tries to get to Jericho but Samoa Joe stops him eventually. Joe and HOOK walk to the back together.


We then get a video package on NJPW Strong Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer.


IWGP World Heavyweight Championship Eliminator Match: Jon Moxley(c) vs. “Azucar” Rocky Romero


The match starts off with Romero hitting a Tope Suicida on Moxley at ringside. Romero smashes Moxley off the commentary desk. Back in the ring, Romero hits a series of kicks on Moxley to his injured shoulder. Moxley makes a comeback as he hits Romero with Hammer and Anvil Elbows. Moxley then hits Romero right in the spine with a kick, but Romero comes right back and delivers a Double Stomp to Moxley’s injured arm.

Romero with a Dropkick from the top rope. Moxley comes back meets Romero on the top rope and bites Romero. Moxley then hits a Superplex on Romero. Romero and Moxley trade Kicks and Forearms, until Romero looks for an arm submission, but Moxley blocks it and knees Romero’s midsection. Moxley then locksin a Chokehold. Romero is out and Moxley climbs to the middle rope, but Romero pulls him down and locks in another arm submission. Moxley is able to escape and hits a clothesline on Romero, then follows it up with the Death Rider for the win.

Winner: Jon Moxley


Samoa Joe and HOOK are backstage with Renee Paquette. Joe says they don’t exist on Jericho’s time as truly dangerous men exist on their own time. Both HOOK and Joe walk away.


The Don Callis Family Grows…


Callis is out and says he has something important to say. He then says that the contract in his hands to work for The Don Callis Family is more valuable than gold and diamonds. He says it’s been a pleasure scouting talent like Orange Cassidy. Callis then says when he sees Cassidy, he sees a little of himself.

Orange Cassidy is out and Callis says this is a moment the world has been waiting for. Callis calls Cassidy an iconic performer in the wrestling industry and says that Cassidy is a star wherever he goes. Callis then welcomes him to the Callis Family. Cassidy then takes the contract from Callis and slowly rips it up and tells Callis that he isn’t joining his family. Callis then grabs Cassidy and tells him no one says no to him.

Stokely Hathaway and Kris Statlander came out and Hathaway tells Cassidy there’s nothing about him he likes and says Cassidy is just like Willow Nightingale and the only reason he is out there is because of Statlander. Statlander then said that her Best Friend accepts Callis’ offer into The Don Callis Family. Trent Beretta is out and attacks Cassidy from behind. Beretta then hugs Callis and signs the contract Callis has. Callis stomps Cassidy a bit as he leaves the ring.


Renee Paquette is in the back with “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard and Daniel Garcia. Garcia tells Will Ospreay that he is coming for the International Championship.


AEW TBS Championship Match: Mercedes Moné (c) VS Skye Blue


The match starts off with Moné attacking Blue and sending her to three of the corners. Moné then strikes Blue with some punches, but Blue counters and sends Moné into the corner. Moné comes right back and hits an arm drag on Blue. Moné then hits a Hurricanrana on Blue that sends her to ringside.

After some back and forth action, Blue is looking for a Powerbomb, but Moné counters into a hurricanrana. Blue hits Skye Fall on Moné and goes for a pin, but Moné kicks out at 2. Blue lifts Moné on her shoulders, but Moné escapes and knees Blue. Blue with a Thrust Kick, andtries to hit Code Blue, but Moné evades it and hits a Moné Maker to pick up the win.

Winner: AND STILL AEW TBS Championship; Mercedes Moné

After the match, Stephanie Vaquer is out holding up the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship while staring down at Moné. Moné holds up the TBS Championship.


Renee Paquette is outside of the trainers room. Kris Statlander and Stokely Hathaway show up and they each take shots at Willow Nightingale. Hathaway says that she was a terrible friend to Statlander and got in the way of Statlander getting HER TBS Championship back. Statlander then says she’s tired of being the bodyguard for everyone and puts the women’s division on notice and says they’ll all need protection from her.


We get a video recapping MJF’s return at AEW Double or Nothing.


The EVP’s talk about the TNT Championship


The entire Elite is out.  The crowd is booing them and Kazuchika Okada then tells them to quiet down. Jack Perry then says The Elite runs AEW and Kenny Omega and Tony Khan put together their dream team for Anarchy In The Arena and while AEW pulled out all the stops, The Elite still came out on top because he pinned Bryan Danielson.

Nicholas Jackson says it’s been a fantastic week for The Elite. They promote their Reebok shoes and says he has a gift for Okada, and on the Khan-O-Tron we see someone driving a sports car. Okada begins to cry and thanks The Elite.

Matthew Jackson then grabs a mic and apologizes to Adam Copeland for telling him to break a leg before his Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match on Sunday and wishes him the best in his recovery from injury. Matthew then strips Copeland of the TNT Championship and awards the TNT Championship to Jack Perry.

Christopher Daniels reminds The Elite that he’s the Interim Executive Vice President and says any announcements from him come directly from Tony Khan, then says the TNT Championship won’t be given away. Daniels then tells Perry if he wants to become the TNT Champion, he has to earn it. Daniels announces qualifying matches where everyone is banned from ringside will take place and all of this will culminate at Forbidden Door in a Ladder Match with the TNT Championship on the line. The Elite thought about attacking Daniels, but The Acclaimed’s is out to even the odds.


AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana are backstage. Strickland says he is curious to know who his next challenger will be as it’ll be decided later in the show. Strickland then says he wants to know who’s going to step up in his house and get stomped out.

MJF will return to AEW Dynamite next week. RUSH then congratulated MJF on his return and says if you mess with the bull, you get the horns.


Forbidden Door Casino Gauntlet (Winner Challenges For The AEW World Championship At Forbidden Door)


The match starts off with PAC and Jay White.  PAC with a kick to White that sends him to the corner. PAC with stomps in the corner. PAC then sends White out of the ring and sends White crashing into the barricades. PAC then bounces White’s head off the ring apron. PAC then hits a hurricanrana on White and after a splash on the outside, PAC hits White with a Missile Dropkick.

Mistico is in next and kick’s White’s head. Mistico then hits a Hurricanrana on White that sends him out of the ring. Mistico then kicks PAC, followed by a Dropkick on White. White and PAC end up at ringside and Mistico then climbs to the top of the corner and lands on both of them.

Will Ospreay is next in and hits a forearm on Mistico. White tries to sneak on Ospreay, but Ospreay hits him in the head and chops him. PAC rolls Ospreay up, but Ospreay then kicks out and Mistico flies to land on Ospreay and PAC.

Shota Umino is in and immediately uppercuts Ospreay in the corner. Both men then go back and forth until Umino hits a dropkick on Ospreay, followed by a DDT through the middle rope.

Claudio Castagnoli is next in the match and he hits an uppercut on PAC on the outside. Claudio then chases White around the ringand ultimately hits a Pop-up Uppercut on Umino., followed by a Spinebuster on White. Castagnoli with a Giant Swing on White.

Lio Rush is in and in the ring he and Castagnoli have a stare down in the ring. Rush then hits an Enzuigiri on Umino.

Orange Cassidy is out and Castagnoli gets Cassidy up for a vertical suplex, but Cassidy escapes with a big knees to Castagnoli’s head. Cassidy hits Castagnoli with a Stun-Dog Millionaire and a Tornado DDT. Ospreay and Cassidy then stare each other down, but White attacks Cassidy from behind.

Hechicero is next in the match and he hits a step-up knee on White in the corner. He then nails Castagnoli, then goes after Ospreay. Ospreay then flies to land on Hechicero, but Mistico hits him with a hurricanrana.

Umino then hits a dropkick on Cassidy on the outside. Mistico with a Hurricanrana on Catagnoli. Cassidy with an Orange Punch , but PAC sneaks in with a roll, but Cassidy stops it and sits on him for a pin, but PAC gets out at 2. PAC climbs to the top, but Juice Robinson tripshim off and as White sets up for the Blade Runner on Cassidy, Ospreay hits the Hidden Blade, followed by an Os-Cutter on Cassidy for the win.

Winner: and new #1 Contender to the AEW World Championship, Will Ospreay

After the match, Swerve Strickland is out with Prince Nana. Strickland and Ospreay then stare each other down as the show ends.
