NJPW is apologizing for losing a USB drive that has the personal information of fan club members on it.

The USB drive was lost during a photo session limited to fan club members at the April 22nd, Korakuen Hall event.

“Although we searched the company and the place where the USB memory was used, we could not find it, so on April 25 we filed a lost and found report with the police and asked them to search for it,” explained NJPW in a translated statement.

The drive does not contain contact information such as the member’s address, telephone number, and e-mail address, or payment information such as credit card information and is equipped with an advanced encryption security function.

“We have not confirmed the fact that the personal information was illegally used by a third party,” NJPW stated.

NJPW will contact the members whose information was on the drive.

“We have been managing the handling of personal information, but we sincerely take this situation seriously and sincerely regret that this situation has occurred. In the future, we will ensure that our employees are fully aware of the handling of personal information through employee education, and we will strive to handle personal information even more strictly throughout the company to prevent recurrence. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our members. We are very sorry for the inconvenience,” stated NJPW.
