David Finlay and Hirooki Goto have moved on to round three of the New Japan Cup Tournament.

Finlay defeated Tanga Loa in a match that started as a brawl outside the ring. Loa waited for Finlay at the entranceway. Loa charged Finlay labeling him with punches as he came through the curtain. Loa tossed Finlay into a metal partician. At ringside, Finlay would smash Loa’s head against the ring apron. Loa battled back whipping Finlay into the ringside barricade. Finlay kicked down a barricade but it was Loa whipping Finlay through an entire row of chairs. Loa sat down on one of the chairs that wasn’t knocked over mocking Finlay before bashing his head into an empty chair.

Loa beat Finlay some more in the crowd. He then brought him back to the ring smashing him with shoulder tackles in a corner. Loa ripped Finlay’s shirt off chopping him from one corner of the ring to the next.

Finlay finally gets some offence in clotheslining Loa over the top rope to the floor.

“You want to get the jump on me! F–k you!” shouted Finlay.

Finlay positioned Loa against one of the barricades spearing him. He threw Loa through the same chairs Loa tossed him through minutes earlier. Finlay forearm smashed Loa to the floor, went back into the ring and demanded the official make the count on Loa.

Later on, the action would once again return to the floor with Loa bouncing Finlay off the ringside barricades. A flying crossbody scored Loa a two count on Finlay.

Finlay would block Loa’s Sacrifice knee strike, powerbomb him and pin him with Overkill.

Hirooki Goto would out away Chase Owens with Goto Revolution to secure his place in round three.

  • Evil versus Hikuleo
  • Shingo Takagi versus Gabe Kidd
  • Yota Tsuji versus El Phantasmo
  • Zack Sabre Jr. versus Ren Narita

The round three matches so far are:
