It was a pretty slow day in the New Japan Cup tournament today with there being only two matches on night five.

Jack Perry attacked Toru Yano before their semi main event match began. Yano sprayed his sanitizer in his face rolling him up for a two count. Yano then covered Perry with his robe and rolled him up again for a two count. Yano tore off one of the turnbuckles throwing it to Perry. As the official admonished Perry and took possession of the pad Yano rolled up Perry yet again for a two count. A drop kick by Perry put an end to Yano’s shenanigans. Perry tossed Yano to the floor so that Yujiro Takahashi could stomp the crap out of him and hurl him into the ringside barricade. Perry tossed Yano into barricade too before throwing him back into the ring.

Yano refused to submit to the Snare Trap. Yano would reverse an Irish Whip into the barricade sending Perry into and right over one.  While the official was busy with Perry, Yujiro tried to handcuff Yano to a ringside barricade. Yano handcuffed him to it instead.

Out comes Yoshinobu Kanemaru to distract the official. Perry shoves Yano from behind into the official. Perry and Kanemaru double team Yano. Yano pushes Perry into Kanemaru hitting the double shot to the “lower abdomen”. Yano goes for the pin. Yujiro pulls the official out of the ring and threw him into the ringside barricade. Perry low blows Yano and pins him with running knee strike. The House of Torture handcuff Yano and stomp, kick him.

In the second New Japan Cup tournament match Sanada reversed Yoshi-Hashi’s Karma into a Deadfall to advance. Perry and Sanada will now meet in round three.

  • David Finlay versus Tanga Loa
  • Chase Owens versus Hirooki Goto
