Greetings and Salutations! Its Wednesday so that means that it is time for another edition of AEW Dynamite! This week on the show we have a “major announcement” from Tony Khan. We also have the Number 1 contenders match for Samoa Joe’s AEW Title as Hangman Adam Page takes on Swerve Strickland. Also on the show we have the AEW Tag Team Championship on the line as Ricky Starks and Bigg Bill take on Sting and Darby Allin in a Tornado Tag Team Match. Without further ado, let’s get to it!


Winner Faces Samoa Joe At AEW Revolution: “Hangman” Adam Page VS Swerve Strickland (with Prince Nana)


The match kicks off and they start going at it and end up outside of the ring. Swerve sends Hangman over the barricade and jumps right on him. Back in the ring, Page Stomps on Swerve but Swerve comes back, but both men start booting each other in the face. Page takes Swerve down and hits Swerve with a shot to the back of the head and then follows that up with a kick to the face. Page goes for the Buckshot, but Swerve….SWERVES it and hits a Flatliner. With page on the apron, Swerve dives over and right onto Page. Swerve with a Suplex and is able to hit The House Call for a 2-count. After a kick to Page, Page is able to come back and get a Powerbomb on Swerve for a 2-count. Page once again goes for a Buckshot, and Swerve ducks and hits a Lariat on Page. Swerve with the Swerve Stomp for a 2-count.

Both men end up outside at ringside and Swerve goes for a piledriver, but Hangman counters it and hits a DDT. Page sends Swerve hard onto the barricade. Hangman slams Swerve into the barricade. Swerve with a Back-Breaker, followed by a Swerve Stomp. Page ends up on a table at ringside, and Swerve goes for a 450 Splash only to land on Page’s Knees. Page finally hits a huge Lariat on Swerve, followed by the Buckshot Lariat and goes for the pin, but Swerve gets his foot on the rope to stop the pin. Hangman hits the Deadeye on the apron. Page is upset and grabs a chair and hits Prince Nana. This backfires hard for Page as he is on the receiving end of the char and Swerve hits the Swerve Stomp.. Swerve hurt his ankle on the landing. Page tries a comeback, but Swerve with a kick and gets the Deadeye off the apron and through a table. Swerve is ready to end this and goes for a Swerve Stomp, but Page moves out of the way, but Swerve still slams him hard on the mat and goes for the pin….BUT THE MATCH  HAS REACHED THE TIME LIMIT!

Winner: Time-Limit Draw

After the match, Swerve  demands five more minutes, but Page denies it as he says he didn’t beat him. Page then says it’s over for Swerve, as he won’t be the world champion. Tony Schiavone announces that at  AEW Revolution; Samoa Joe will defend the title against Hangman Page and Swerve Strickland in a 3-Way Match.

AEW World Champion Samoa Joe is backstage and he says its the end of mediocrity. Joe says the powers that be don’t want him to be the champion, but it is not their choice. Joe says he will leave AEW Revolution with the gold around his waist.


AEW Women’s World Title Eliminator: “Timeless” Toni Storm (c) (with Lutha and Mariah May) VS Red Velvet


Deonna Purrazzo joined the commentary team for this. Velvet takes control early on, but Storm gains the upper hand by taking Velvet down. Storm firmly and convincingly has control of the match until Velvet connects with a hard kick. Velvet with a Bulldog. Velvet a charge, but Storm moves and Velvet slams her face on the Turnbuckle and sits down. Storm with a Hip Attack, and then locks an an ankle lock where one foot is on her neck, forcing her to tap out.

Winner: “Timeless” Toni Storm

Storm refuses to release the hold. Purrazzo is in the ring and stands face to face with Storm. Lutha separates them, and Storm leaves with Purrazzo eyeing her down


AEW International Orange Cassidy with Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero chat about their matches. They’re asked about Chuck Taylor, and Cassidy says they’ll check on him.


Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli) vs. Hechicero, Volador Jr. & Mascara Dorada


Danielson and Hechicero start the match. Hechicero is in control and showing off his technical wrestling against Danielson. Dorada tags in and chops Castagnoli, then follows that up with a Headscissors. Moxley and Volador Jr. tag in and fo at it. Volador Jr. gets Moxley out of the ring and dives on him at ringside. Hechicero and Mascara attack Moxley, and Danielson and Castagnoli get involved.

Moxley with a Lariat on Volador Jr.. BCC now keeps Volador Jr. on their side of the ring. Castagnoli with the swing on Volador Jr. After some BCC offense, Volador Jr. takes everyone down and gets the hot tag to Mascara Dorada, who clears house. BCC is now on the outside and Team CLL dive on BCC at ringside.

Dorada lands a Sunset flip on Castagnoli for a 2-count. The two teams break out in a brawl and everyone is diving on everyone. Hechicero dives onto Danielson, then Castagnoli punches him, followed by Danielson stomps Hechicero. Dorada takes on Danielson, but Moxley takes him out. Hechicero comes back and takes out Moxley, but Catagnoli with a Lariat. Castagnoli with a low blow and pins Hechicero.

Mistico, Star Jr, and someone else confronts the BCC, but others from the AEW locker room make the save.


The Undisputed Kingdom attacks Chuck Taylor backstage….

Tony Khan confirms that AEW is returning to Boston on March 13 and says it will be a very important night for AEW and all of wrestling as that episode of Dynamite is dubbed Big Business.


Chris Jericho vs. Konosuke Takeshita (with Don Callis & Powerhouse Hobbs)


Jericho sends Takeshita to the outside as Callis barks some orders. Jericho goes and takes out Callis. Takeshita sends Jericho to the  barricade, and then follows that up with a Brainbuster. Back in the ring, Jericho finally gets some momentum his way. Outside of the ring, Sammy Guevara comes down and hits Hobbs with a chair then lands a Cutter. Hobbsgets up and leaves through the crowd with Sammy behind him.

Takeshita takes out Jericho and both men trade strikes. Takeshita with a kick, followed by a dive. Jericho comes back and goes for a Lionsault, but Takeshita blocks it, but after some back and forth, Jericho hits the Codebreaker. After some more back and forth strikes,  Takeshita hits an avalanche Blue Thunder Bomb. The ref takes a bump, and Callis attacks Jericho with a screwdriver. Takeshita locks in the Walls of Jericho and Lion-tamer, forcing Jericho to tap out.

Winner: Konosuke Takeshita


Tornado Tag Match For AEW World Tag Team Championship: Ricky Starks & Big Bill (c) VS Sting & Darby Allin


Sting and Starks head into the crowd, and Sting hits Starks with a garbage can. Starks and Bill take on Allin. They fight towards a balcony and Sting jumps off said balcony onto the champions. Sting hits Starks with a chair as Bill takes out Sting at ringside. Bill catches Allin after an attempted dive and slams him hard at ringside. Bill continues to choke Allin sends him hard on the mat. Bill just throws Allin across the ring. Sting takes on Starks and Bill by himself but Starks with a Scorpion Death Drop on Sting.

Allin with a dive onto Bill. Sting gets Starks in the Scorpion Death Lock. Allin crashes Bill through a table. Starks with a Spear on a table, but Sting hits the Scorpion Death Drop and gets the pin to become tag-team champs.

Winners and new AEW World Tag Team Champions: Sting & Darby Allin

The new champions celebrate along with Sing’s family. The Young Bucks attack Sting and Darby Allin. Allin gets hit with a newly renamed EVP Trigger. The champs bleed and the Bucks celebrate.
