Vince McMahon may be on a leave of absence with the WWE but he isn’t remaining silent.

McMahon has addressed news that federal law enforcement agents served him a federal grand jury subpoena and executed a search warrant as well back on July 17th of last month.

McMahon issued an internal memo to all WWE employees this morning in which he maintains his innocence.

“In 2022, WWE formed a special committee to review allegations of misconduct against me. That review was concluded in November 2022 following an extensive investigation. Throughout this experience, I have always denied any intentional wrongdoing and continue to do so. I am confident that the government’s investigation will be resolved without any findings of wrongdoing. I am focused on completing the recovery process from my recent spinal surgery and on closing our transaction with Endeavor, which will create one of the preeminent global sports and entertainment brands.”

McMahon is currently on an indefinite leave of absence as he recovers from spinal surgery but remains WWE’s Executive Chairman.

In 2022, McMahon resigned from the Board of Directors after allegations were made that he had personally paid off former employees to not disclose a sexual relationship with McMahon. The Board of Directors conducted a special investigation and determined that the payments ultimately benefitted the company, forcing a filing with the SEC that the financial statements would need to be revised to reflect those payments.
