NJPW has announced that Taiji Ishimori was injured in his match against Hiromu Takahashi yesterday and will miss the rest of the Best of the Super Juniors tournament.

“During his Best of the Super 30 league match with Hiromu Takahashi, Taiji Ishimori sustained an injury to his cervical vertebra. As a result, he will not be cleared to compete for the remainder of the Best of the Super Jr. tour,” stated NJPW.

The match was called yesterday when Ishimori couldn’t continue after Hiromu gave Ishimori a Falcon Arrow.

Ishimori has been discharged from hospital and is recovering at home. NJPW states that he is able to move normally but does not have a timetable for a return to the ring at this time.

“We apologise to fans who were looking forward to seeing Ishimori wrestle, and appreciate your understanding. NJPW joins fans in wishing Ishimori a fast, full recovery,” stated the promotion.

In the tournament, Taiji Ishimori had 10 points and was in a three-way tie for second in A Block.
