Mercedes Moné is now missing some gold. Moné lost the IWGP Women’s Championship at Stardom’s All-Star Grand Queendom tonight to challenger, veteran Mayu Iwatani.

Moné came down to the ring decked out in Black Tiger gear.  Eddie Guerrero, an idol of Moné’s, was the second man to portray the Black Tiger character in Japan.

Moné spent much of their match not taking Iwatani seriously when she has held the Ring of Honor’s Women of Honor World Championship once and just about every championship Stardom has to offer including the Wonder of Stardom Championship twice and the World of Stardom Championship twice. At a press conference yesterday, Moné expressed her distain for Iwatani.

“Who do you think you are? I am the CEO!” said Moné slapping Iwantani in the face as their title match got underway.

Iwatani took Moné to the mat battering her with haymakers. Both women flipped back and forth punching each other relentlessly. A soccer kick to the back and face drove Moné to the floor. Iwatani dove through the ropes colliding with Moné. Iwatani kicked and arm locked Moné on the floor. Back in the ring, Iwatani rubbed Moné’s face in the mat getting some revenge for all the humiliation she has put her through.

Moné’s double knees had Iwatani hanging off the ring ropes by her heels. As Iwatani hung there Moné hit a Meteora off the apron driving her hard to the arena floor.

Some fans began chanting: CEO! CEO!

Moné smashed Iwatani’s head off the announce table and gave her the Three Amigos in the middle of the ring. As she hung Iwatani in the Tree of Woe and gave her a double knee stomp Moné started singing: Mayu sucks! Mayu sucks!

Moné gave Iwatani a Codebreaker from the second rope which drew gasps from the crowd.

“I am the CEO! You will never be the IWGP Women’s Champion!” screamed Moné at a downed Iwatani.

After eight unsuccessful pin attempts in a row Moné hit another Codebreaker.

“I am the icon! This is my home!” she shouted to the crowed. Iwatani snuck up behind Moné for a dragon suplex and a tombstone piledriver. Moné desperately grabbed Iwatani’s leg so she couldn’t climb to the top rope. She gave Iwatani a one-finger salute. Iwatani slapped her in the face and kicked her viciously in the face twice. A top rope moonsault scored Iwatani a two count. She pinned her just seconds later with her bridging dragon suplex to become the new IWGP Women’s Champion.

Moné ate some crow after the match admitting that Iwatani got the better of her tonight.

“I love being your CEO of Stardom. Right now, tonight, Mayu you really showed me that you are the true icon of Stardom. Please take care of that championship and show women all over the world why you are the icon!” said Moné bowing to Mayu.
