British wrestler Chelsey “Bubbles” Cartwright has died in a car accident. She was 31.
She was based out of the Grimsby and Lincolnshire areas, and wrestled in the late 2000s.
The British Wrestling Revolution account sent out the news, and noted that “Chelsey was renowned for her upbeat personality and her kindness. She will be very much missed by everybody who had the pleasure of knowing her.”
Chelsey Cartwright was born on August 15, 1990, attended Skegness Grammar School, and then the Grimsby Institute Further and Higher Education.
She trained with RDW and WAW, and debuted in 2006. The 5-foot-4 grappler wrestled under the names Bubbles/Bubblez and Chelsey Love, and personally, was also known as Chelsey Coley. Her father, Steve Cartwright, wrestled for a time under the name Sykes and Steve Sykes.
“Heart broken to hear the news about Chelsey Cartwright love and thoughts with Sykes and Joy and rest of the family I am lost for words RIP beautiful lady,” tweeted Ricky Knight (father of WWE star Paige).
In 2007, Bubbles was a part of a ChickFight tournament, defeating Cheerleader Melissa, taped in Skegness, Lincolnshire, and then losing to Wesna in a four-way with Jade and Skye. In 2008, she was again part of a ChickFight taping, losing in singles to Wesna, and beating Maya, in Ipswich, Suffolk. There was also a tag team called Babylove where Love teamed with Stacey Baybie.
She retired from pro wrestling in 2010.
