As we race down that road to WrestleMania our last stop for the main roster is FastLane. Although we don’t expect any title changes, there are some interesting match-ups on this pitstop to the Showcase of the Immortals. Here are our predictions and prognostications.

Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler (champions) versus Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair (challengers) – WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match

Betonline.ag

Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax: -300. Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair: +200. Winners: Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax

Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax: -300. Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair: +200. Winners: Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax

With all the attention they have been getting I cannot see any chance of Nia or Shayna losing the belts before WrestleMania. Winners: Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax.

The most likely outcome of this match will be that Jax & Baszler take advantage of the miscues between Banks & Belair to win and retain their titles.  Yet, the real purpose of this bou is to help build the discord between Banks and Belair for WrestleMania.

There are too many tag team floating around on both shows to not have a women’s Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania. So putting the titles on Bianca and Sasha – who have their own singles match on that show – would leave a bunch of people off the show. I see the champs retaining, and a multi-team match happening at Mania with all of the other teams. Winners: Jax and Baszler

It’s hard to keep track of Reginald’s place in all of this. Going from Carmella to Banks to Jax … it’s almost like there isn’t really a plan for this back-flipping sommelier. Why talk about Reginald first? Because the part where Banks and Belair come to blows and self-destruct is so paint-by-numbers obvious. Don’t even get me started on the tag titles playing second, or even third-fiddle in all of this. Winners: Jax & Baszler

There’s absolutely no way that the team of Belair and Banks doesn’t implode here. Get Belair and Banks focused on their Mania match, and get Tamina and Natalya feuding with Jax and Baszler. Please. Winners: Jax and Baszler

Roman Reigns (champion) versus Daniel Bryan (challenger) – WWE Universal Championship Match

Betonline.ag

Roman Reigns: -2500. Daniel Bryan: +750. Winner: Roman Reigns.

John Powell

Editor-in-Chief

Unless they are going to make it a Triple Threat Match the belt will most probably stay around Roman’s waist so we can see that “battle of the spears” at WrestleMania. Winner: Roman Reigns.

It seems highly unlikely that Bryan will win the Universal Title from Reigns just before WrestleMania.  That doesn’t mean Reigns will win the bout though.  Instead it may end in a double count out or disqualification in order to setup a triple threat match between Edge, Reigns and Bryan at WrestleMania.

Bob Kapur

The possibility of a Bryan-Edge match actually has me more intrigued than Reigns vs. Edge, but there’s no way that they take the Big Dog out of the Mania main event. So what I think will happen is that that will be a Triple Threat match. How they get there is either Edge costing Reigns the match and then Heyman lawyering Reigns back into the match, or a non-finish in this one. In order to be a big deal for this, the first show on Peacock, I call title change. Winner: Daniel Bryan

Whether it’s a movie, a book, or a wrestling match, this is all I ever really want: an uncertain outcome in a scripted story. I really don’t know where this is all going. I could see Bryan and Edge at WrestleMania – I would love to see it, actually – but you also can’t bet against Reigns. Ever. In the end, I have to presume that everything just stays the course. Winner: Reigns

Normally I try to pick what I think is going to happen, not what I want to happen. But since I have no idea what’s going to happen, I’ll just say what I want: Daniel Bryan wins, and faces Edge at WrestleMania. Winner: Bryan

Big E (champion) versus Apollo Crews (challenger) – WWE Intercontinental Championship Match

Betonline.ag

Big E: -200. Apollo Crews: +150. Winner: Big E

John Powell

Editor-in-Chief

This match is just the preview of their WrestleMania match which will probably have some sort of crazy stipulation. Winner: Big E.

Matthew Byer

Out of the 3 title matches at Fastlane this is the one where a new champion may be crowned.  There is a tendency heading into WrestleMania to have the Intercontinental Championship held by a heel and thus look for Apollo Crews to get the duke.

Bob Kapur

Senior Editor

Big E’s singles run has been really disappointing, and I think that’s because he’s still trying to do the New Day schtick without anyone to bounce off of. So it comes across as a pale imitation and not nearly as charming or funny. The Apollo heel turn has gone marginally better, and at least they’re playing off his reclaiming of his culture as serious instead of making light of it like they’ve done in the past (Saba Simba, anyone?). I think he wins, injuring Big E so they can revamp him a bit. Winner: Apollo

Dave Hillhouse

Hollywood Headlock Editor

Crews will take the title as a recompense of some kind for this character change, but I don’t think it will be here. More likely that Crews forgoes a win and takes a statement-making DQ loss, egging on Big E to challenge him again where Crews can take the strap. Winner: Big E

Gavin Hillhouse

Smackdown Reporter

I don’t see this rivalry ending before WrestleMania. It’s been all Crews, offense wise, so far, so I see Big E getting himself disqualified and giving Crews a little payback before they have a WrestleMania match. Winner: Crews by disqualification – Still champion: Big E

Drew McIntyre versus Sheamus

John Powell

Editor-in-Chief

I have got to say these two have been having some fantastic matches on Raw recently. Drew is in the main event of WrestleMania. The Celtic Warrior is not. Winner: Drew McIntyre.

Matthew Byer

This could be the match of the night with both competitors bashing their opponent senseless.  There will be a high probability of the new WWE Champion Bobby Lashley interfering which is why the final outcome may be a no contest or double disqualification.

Bob Kapur

Senior Editor

I’ve really enjoyed the matches between these two – they just bring a good level of intensity and smash-mouth “realness” that isn’t seen as much anymore. This could easily be the match of the night. No way that they take Drew out of the Mania main event. But would they make that a Triple Threat as well as the Smackdown title match? I can’t see that happening either. So look for Drew to win here and he goes on to face Lashley in April. Winner: Drew McIntyre

Dave Hillhouse

Hollywood Headlock Editor

It’s nice that these two have something to do this Sunday. It will be fine, it will be physical, and it will end up with The Hurt Business’ fingerprints all over it – which is the only way to give McIntyre a meaningful loss on his road to WrestleMania. Winner: Sheamus

Gavin Hillhouse

Smackdown Reporter

McIntyre wins, and the Hurt Business beats him up after. Alternatively, McIntyre slaps his leg when he does the Claymore and gets fired. Winner: McIntyre

Alexa Bliss versus Randy Orton

John Powell

Editor-in-Chief

This angle has reached the Ultimate Warrior / Papa Shango level of absurdity. There won’t be a match. It will be just a confrontation. Winner: Not applicable.

Matthew Byer

Contributor

The biggest question here is how much of an actual match between Bliss and Orton will we get.  The Fiend is almost certain to make an appearance in order to setup his match with The Viper at WrestleMania, but before that there will probably be plenty of theatrics in order to give Bliss an advantage.  While the safe bet is for Orton to win look for Bliss to get the victory with a little help from The Fiend.

Bob Kapur

Senior Editor

Well, they already gave away the RKO on Alexa for free. To top that, I see this one bringing out the cinematic guns, culminating with a huge special effect in order to bring back The Fiend, who will get his revenge on Orton for hitting him with the BBQ. Winner: Alexa Bliss

Dave Hillhouse

Hollywood Headlock Editor

What comes out of nowhere first: an RKO or The Fiend? If this has any semblance of a match at all, then maybe Bliss wins by covering Orton after he has been decimated by Wyatt. Or, more likely, the bell rings and Orton vomits goo all over the place. No Contest

Gavin Hillhouse

Smackdown Reporter

This is going to be a trippy, completely unstructured masterpiece. Orton will beat Bliss, and he’ll try to punt her, but the Fiend will make its return and stop him. Winner: Orton
