TNA’s Joe Hendry has been making big waves in not only TNA but also WWE’s NXT as of late.
Hendry has made appearances on NXT even teaming with Trick Williams against NXT Heavyweight Champion “All Ego” Ethan Page and Shawn Spears in the main event of last week’s show.
In TNA, he will face champion Moose, Josh Alexander, Steve Maclin, Nic Nemeth and Frankie Kazarian for the TNA World Championship at Slammiversary this weekend.
“Four months ago I couldn’t even get on a pay-per-view and here I am because of all of you! Because of your support I am here in the main even challenging for the TNA World Championship. I am here because the world is saying: We believe!” said Hendry opening up the Slammiversary press conference today in Montreal.
Hendry would later explain how important to him this weekend is.
“This is what I have worked so long and so hard for. This is organic and make no mistake about it, it has happened because of the fan response. The fans are the ones who have given me the energy and put me in this position,” he said.
When asked who his dream opponent would be if he wins the title this weekend Hendry had a specific talent in mind.
“See, I know what the answer is. I was going to save it until I win the championship… When I win the TNA World Championship I might just turn to the camera and call out John Cena,” he said.
