When the Smackdown went off the air last night the cameras kept rolling recording a curious championship title change that will air at a future date.
Andrade challenged Speed Champion, Ricochet, after earning a title match by beating Tommaso Ciampa earlier in the evening.
Andrade went on to defeat Ricochet to become the new WWE Speed Champion. Ricochet only held the title 42 days. Ricochet beat Johnny Gargano in the finals of a tournament to crown the inaugural champion.
Andrade has been the NXT Champion once and the United States Champion once.
The title change is curious as it is at a time when Ricochet is negotiating a new contract with WWE.
Ricochet is currently engaged to WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin.
The change is expected to air on X in two weeks.
