NWA’s The Now aren’t fooling around when it comes to their brand, identity.
Vik Dalishus and Hale Collins (Rob Begely and Dale Chapman) aren’t too thrilled about what they have been seeing on WWE television.
WWE’s United States Champion Austin Theory has recently been referred to as The Now on air.
“My initial reaction was shock because of the fact that we have had it copyrighted since 2006 and there’s many people in WWE who know Hale and I, know our names, and know we own it,” Begely told Hudson Valley Post.
Begely and Chapman’s lawyer has filed two cease and desist orders against the WWE. Not only are they demanding that Theory stop being referred to as “The Now” but he stop wearing gear with those words.
We have sent two Cease and Desist letters to the @wwe and @_Theory1 continues to be referred to as “The Now” by @WWEGraves on commentary, as well as our logo displayed on The Theory Characters ring worn gear & creating confusion in the marketplace. Its pretty simple. #theNOW pic.twitter.com/TlxThxlx19

Begley told Hudson Valley Post that the next step was a lawsuit.
Their lawyer is Mike Dockins, known as ‘the gimmick attorney’. He bills himself as “is a registered patent attorney serving as intellectual property (IP) counsel for elite pro wrestlers”.
