For the first time ever an NXT Takeover spans two nights which means double the fun for wrestling fans. Here are our predictions and prognostications.
Io Shirai (champion) versus Raquel González (challenger) – NXT Women’s Championship Match
John Powell
Editor-in-Chief
Word is that NXT has big plans for Raquel González and those plans will probably begin here. Shirai’s run as champion has been one of the only bright spots in NXT over the last year or so but it is time for Shirai to move to the main roster or perhaps head back to Japan. Winner: Raquel González.

Io Shirai is only dropping her championship if she is being moved to either RAW or SmackDown. Being that isn’t happening at this time look for her to get the victory on this night.

Racquel has been booked really strong, and I think her momentum continues with this one. I think she starts a lengthy title reign with a big win here. What they do with Io remains to be seen, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see her moved to RAW or Smackdown either next week or possibly as part of the next brand draft. Winner: Racquel Gonzalez

MSK versus Grizzled Young Veterans versus Legado Del Fantasma – Triple Threat – NXT Tag Team Championship Match
John Powell
Editor-in-Chief
Not sure what MSK is doing in NXT. They are definitely main roster material but…the modern WWE and its rules. The Grizzled Young Veterans haven’t traveled all the way to the USA for nothing and also, it would be cool for them to be the only team to have won both the NXT USA and UK tag team championships. Winners: The Grizzled Young Veterans.

Grizzled Young Veterans will be your new NXT Tag Team Champions.

If you had asked me a few months ago what was likely to happen to MSK in NXT, I would have said they’d be buried and after a year would be heading back to Impact. Not that I don’t think they’re good – but just because I couldn’t see their style being appreciated in WWE. I’m glad I’ve been proven wrong, and I think that continues with a win here. Winners: MSK

Walter (champion) versus Tommaso Ciampa (challenger) – NXT United Kingdom Championship Match
John Powell
Editor-in-Chief
Like good old J.R. says this will be one hell of a slobberknocker. I cannot foresee a NXT USA wrestler though beating Walter and having to defend the championship in the UK. Winner: Walter.

Walter retains after a spirited contest.

Given these two competitors, this will be a physically brutal fight – and I can’t wait. I think they keep the title on WALTER, because I can’t see Ciampa heading to the UK on a full-time basis or even traveling over there regularly to defend the title – at least not in the current global situation. Winner: WALTER

Gauntlet Eliminator match
John Powell
Editor-in-Chief
The winner here faces Gargano for the North American Championship on night two and will probably end up beating him. Based on their recent pushes it would seem Bronson or Lumis would be most likely to win here. Winner: Bronson Reed.

Honestly not sure here. I’ll go with Cameron Grimes.

After his much-ballyhooed debut, I don’t think they’ve done anything particularly good with LA Knight. They course-correct here with a win. Winner: LA Knight

Pete Dunn versus Kushida
John Powell
Editor-in-Chief
Kushida continues to be mired in the NXT wasteland. They cannot seem to decide what to do with him. He is better off back in NJPW. Kushida has to go over here if he has any chance of reaching the next level in NXT. Winner: Kushida.

Dunne will put up a fight, but Kushida wins in the end.
Bob Kapur
Senior Editor
This should be a good match, but after competing for the world title recently, this is a big fall down the card for Dunne. I see him taking the loss, and taking some time to refocus and possibly repackage. Winner: Kushida
