Countdown to Hell in a Cell 2020

Round and round we go, where this stops I don’t give two craps. McIntyre boring. Orton boring. It doesn’t really matter to me which carries the title. I just wish this feud would end….and soon. With Edge hopefully coming back for WrestleMania it would make sense for Orton to carry the title forward. Winner: Randy Orton

Drew McIntyre: -200. Randy Orton: + 150. Winner: Drew McIntyre.

The question with this match is whether or not Orton is still seen in WWE management’s eyes as one the faces of the company or simply someone to primarily put over other talent.  Having lost the last 2 matches against McIntyre the Viper needs a win, but barring some unexpected interference it seems probable the Scottish Psychopath will hold onto the WWE Championship.

I think that the law of averages catches up to McIntyre here and he drops the belt to Orton. Interestingly, this also invokes the law of diminishing returns concerning Orton’s championship calibre. Winner: Randy Orton

Drew McIntyre has come too far to lose now. He’s won two matches against Orton; it’d be silly to take the title away from him after all that. Winner: Drew McIntyre

I will give it to Bayley. She started out as an awkward and weak heel but she has really come into her own as the WWE’s resident whiny brat who can back up what she says in the ring. Sasha Banks? I still find her extremely overrated in every way. Let’s not forget that the longest Sasha Banks has held the Raw title is a little less than a month before losing it again. Winning it five times doesn’t seem to be so impressive after you know that.  Bayley is unstoppable right now. Winner: Bayley

Is it just me or does this match seem to be happening way too early?  The proper place for this match is at WrestleMania which is why Bayley will somehow hold onto the SmackDown Women’s Title and refuse a rematch against The Boss.  Consequently that will lead to Banks winning the Royal Rumble to setup the WrestleMania rematch.

If it wasn’t a Hell in a Cell match I’d wonder if Charlotte might insert herself. I mean, I don’t like Charlotte and even I recognize that a lot of the jostling for position in WWE women’s wrestling right now is just treading water until she returns. Oh – this match? A good fight, a decisive victory, and a new champ. Winner: Sasha Banks

 I see Bayley winning and finally putting this feud to rest so that Banks can go do Mandalorian things. Winner: Bayley

Everyone knows how this one is going to go especially since the feud wasn’t supposed to last this long in the first place. Only the conclusion will be of any interest. Winner: Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns: -2800. Jey Uso: +900. Winner: Roman Reigns.

While blood in a Hell in a Cell match is rare being this match also has an I Quit stipulation this one may be the exception.  It also seems very possible that Jimmy Uso May cost his brother the match by saying I Quit and pretending to be Jey.

I could really enjoy this feud if it had been paced more slowly, and Reigns’ return (and turn) was more sensibly presented. The match should be fun on its own, but I know it could have been made to be more meaningful. Winner: Roman Reigns

This one is difficult, because I don’t see Roman losing the title, but I also don’t foresee Jey Uso being ostracized by all his loved ones on live TV. I guess I’ll have to go with Roman, I’d like to see Jey as champ, but I don’t think Roman is losing anytime soon. Winner: Roman Reigns

Good to see Elias back and the feud with Hardy could be interesting if they play off their musical backgrounds even more. If Hardy were to win it would snuff out any momentum Elias has and he is supposed to be a big part of Raw going forward. One cannot knock Hardy though. He is having an amazing year and is one of the WWE’s MVPs at present. Winner: Elias.

Jeff Hardy: +110. Elias: -150. Winner: Elias.

Elias is the one that needs a win after returning from injury so look for him to take out Hardy with a guitar when the referee’s back is turned.

Elias, who has always seemed to have the world at his fingertips, will hopefully be granted the opportunity to firmly grasp it. Hardy will bounce around the ring beautifully for him and make Elias look like a champ. Winner: Elias

This seems like another instance of a vet putting over relatively newer talent. Hopefully Elias at least gets a full, uninterrupted song. Winner: Elias

Why isn’t this a career versus career match? If so, we would be able to get rid of Otis and those awful People’s Court skits for good. Winner: The Miz

This whole storyline would seem to have too much time invested in something that leaves us with the status quo. I believe that The Miz has to win the briefcase and then … cash it in later in the show. If that were to be the case, I would have to change my prediction on Orton/McIntyre and see Miz and Morrison working together to take the title from the weary Scot. Winner: The Miz

The Miz doesn’t seem at a point in his career where he’s going to be launched to the main stage like he would with a world title win, so as much as Otis is basically comic relief at this point, I predict he’ll be keeping the contract. Winner: Otis
