Industry insider Matthew Belloni is reporting that AEW will be announcing a deal with Warner Bros. Discovery next week.
In his Puck newsletter, Belloni says WBD has money to burn after losing the NBA deal. Apparently, the deal is worth $170 million per year.
“It looks like it will be a four-year deal (three years guaranteed, plus an option) with AEW broadcasts on “TNT, TBS and TruTV.”
What is a bit odd about the report is that Belloni says the deal is for two hours of AEW programming a week which could suggest that one of the current AEW shows could be in jeopardy. If AEW programming is cut one wonders what the promotion would do with their large roster.
