The WWE Holiday Tour rolled into the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan, on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, with a decided win, unlike the resident Detroit Pistons of the NBA, who are on a record losing streak.
SlamWrestling.net photographer Brad McFarlin was there and noted that the ring canvas arrived two hours before the show, as it hadn’t been packed.
The call went out to local wrestling promotions, and Brian Shotwell from MPWA came to WWE’s rescue. “Brian got five front row tickets and an autographed turnbuckle for saving the day,” said McFarlin, who works for Shotwell as manager “Handsome” Johnny Bradford.
“LA Knight was the man. No question,” reported McFarlin. “Bianca Belair was the big hit, coming out as a surprise to help out Shotzi, who was getting double teamed. And after the match she went around the ring signing autographs and posing for selfies.”
And, unlike the Pistons, WWE drew, said McFarlin. “The house was mighty good. They blacked off the back end of the Arena, but the rest, even the balcony, was packed.”
