According to the Wrestling Observer the WWE has officially dumped two shows.
WWE will no longer be holding a Tribute to the Troops every year. The WWE used to air the special every December starting in 2003. The spirit behind the show was to honor and also entertain United States Armed Forces. Word is both the WWE and Endeavor felt it was an outdated concept and threw a wrench into their current angles. John “Bradshaw” Layfield is recognized as the one who came up with the idea suggesting it to WWE management, producers.
Through the course of the event the WWE didn’t just hold a card usually in Iraq or Afghanistan but they visited various bases and facilities spending time with military personnel. The WWE has received numerous honors, awards for holding the event. Both President George W. Bush and President Barack Obama taped messages for the show and recognized the WWE’s support of the U.S. military.
The Observer also confirmed that the WWE is pulling the plug on NXT Level Up show with last week’s tapings being the last. It will be replaced by WWE’s reality show LFG in 2025.
