NWA Powerrr: ‘Low Key’ Action and ThrillRides for Champions

On this NWA POWERRR, we have two major matches. First, the Low Key Legend, Nattie Neidhart, will take on the Pretty Empowered duo of Kylie and Kenzie Paige.  Plus, “Thrillbilly” Silas Mason puts the Ten Pounds on the line as he faces Carson Drake in the main event.  That said, Aron Stevens will be in his corner, so who knows what shenanigans will take place on the big finale of this NWA 78 signature event?

We come to you from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA. Joe Galli, Danny Dealz, and Billy Corgan have the call, and that leads to a recap of the contract signing between Mason and CBD.

That also leads to a short message from Neidhart telling the sisters that after tonight, you can call her “Nattie Two Taps.”

That said, your First Match of the Night is…

Nattie Neidhart vs. Kenzie Paige vs. Kylie Paige (with Tommy Henry)

Now, this has been advertised as Neidhart’s debut match in the NWA.  However, I would like to add an…

(Author’s Note:  Nattie actually had fought Kenzie Paige for The Burke at the 2025 Crockett Cup.  The late, great George Tahinos documented this.  Why it wasn’t shown on the NWA broadcasts is beyond me, since I wasn’t there at the time.  If and when I have that opportunity, I will ask.  However, enjoy this little photo Tahinos provided us before his unfortunate passing.)

As for the match, the Paige sisters double-team Neidhart right away, and this is less a triple threat than a handicap match.  The Low Key Legend takes control, but the numbers catch up, and it doesn’t matter as the action goes outside.  Kenzie manages to slap on a crossface, and Neidhart tries to power out, and she switches to a crucifix pin for a two count.  Neidhart gets an STO and stomps her legs to weaken Kenzie.  She adds more injury with a surfboard.

Kylie breaks it up and then…

Ads (where Mason lays the Smackdown on Drake ahead of their world title match)

We come back, and Kylie is on offense with leg strikes, and manages to get a two count.

She gets Neidhart in a Boston crab between the ropes, and from there the Paige sisters continue the double team until it’s time to pin her, and now they get in each other’s faces.

Neidhart fires back and gets both sisters in a double sharpshooter, but can’t lock it in.  The Paige sisters lock in a dual Boston crab, but Nattie fights out (by her Nature) and then gets a Kenzie Cutter, but kicks out at two.  Before anything else happens, we get…

More ads…(as Stevens talks up Drake and gives him a Rolex, and the little hand on the clock says it’s time to get the Ten Pounds of Gold)

Back to the squared circle, and Neidhart sends Kenzie crashing into Kylie with a cutter.

Whoops!

Kylie gets the women’s tag belt and prepares to blast Nattie flush, but she connects with her sister in the face.

Neidhart sends her out, and the Sharpshooter on Kenzie forces her to tap out.

Your Winner via Submission:  Nattie Neidhart

Things are not looking good for the Paige sisters, and it makes one wonder what will be the fallout after this signature event.

Joe Galli sat down with Mason and talked about his time in All Japan.  Mason was very complimentary about Japanese culture and how they respect wrestling, and he suggests that if Corgan is doing another rock and wrestling tour, he should hit him up.

Now for the Main Event for the…

NWA World Heavyweight Championship: “Thrillbilly” Silas Mason(c) vs. Carson Bartholomew Drake (with Aron Stevens)

The bell rings, and both men stare each other down.  Mason shoves him, and now they lock up.  They separate and then…

Ads (where Heath is ready for either man, and he wants the Ten Pounds of Gold. Hey, he’s got kids!)

We come back, and the feeling-out process continues, where Mason wraps a headscissors to Drake, and he jackknifes out of the submission.  A ThrillRide is attempted, and Drake slips out as Stevens talks strategy in the corner.

Philly is into this match as they chant “Let’s go May-son/Carson sucks!”

Mason gets him in a corner and mounts with punches. Stevens tries to help but gets knocked out.  Drake is punch-drunk, and a belly-to-back suplex knocks him down to the mat.  Mason runs the ropes and Stevens pulls at his boot and then…

Ads (where the Slimeballz ask The Royal Court for a pittance for a Rolex)

We come back, and Mason goes outside to beat Drake down like the proverbial government mule.  Drake throws him into the guardrails, and from there they battle up the ramp, and he gives Mason a neckbreaker, and it looks like he got the worst of that move.

Stevens and the ref check on Drake, and even Corgan leaves commentary, along with Pat Kennedy coming out to check.  A hush falls over the crowd as they realize this wasn’t part of the plan.

Again, allow me another…

(Author’s Note: While I did not see referee Jacob Fritz throw the “X” sign, you can tell Drake must have suffered some kind of a stinger.  I only saw a similar situation once at NWA 75 as Tim Storm fell down after a simple slam to the mat.  How back this was is hard to say, but it bears mentioning they are planning a rematch at the Samhain Part IV Signature event.)

Corgan talks to Kyle Davis, who announces that Drake cannot continue, so therefore…

Your Winner, and Still NWA Heavyweight Champion:  “Thrillbilly” Silas Mason

Mason gets in the mic and talks to Drake, but Stevens tries to punk him out.  He takes a Thrill ride for his troubles.

Afterward, Mason makes it clear he is down for a rematch as the show comes to a close.
