It’s NWA Powerrr on COMET TV, as the National Wrestling Alliance returns to broadcast television for the first time in many years.
Tiffany Nieves will put up her NWA Women’s Television title against The Quintessential Diva, Gisele Shaw. Plus, this is the start of the official 2026 Crockett Cup, and we will see four teams in a fatal four-way to determine the 16th Seed, among them from All Japan Pro Wrestling, The Titans of Calamity in Jack Talos and Ren Ayabe. After that, they get the distinct pleasure of facing last year’s winners, and current NWA World Tag Team Champions, The Immortals.
Who will come out on top and survive this night?
Great question, since I was there. Also, allow me an…

We come to you from The OC Theatre in Forney, TX. Joe Galli, Tim Storm, and Danny Dealz have the call. Your First Match of the Night is…

The Titans of Calamity (Jack Talos and Ren Ayabe) vs. Jack N’ Eddy (Jack Valor and Eddiy Grayson) vs. Devastation Reborn (AJ Farat and Frank Stone) vs. Death Row Militia (Leo Fox and MurderMan KillBane)
This is a fatal four-way play-in match, and the winner of this scramble will then face the team of Sins ‘n Grins, with the winner becoming the official #16 Seed in The Crockett Cup. The Territores are represented by NWA Chicago, Texas Style Wrestling, and NWA Texas, respectively. As for Ayabe and Talos…Well, Talos is a familiar sight in NWA, and you can still read his columns here, too (and yes, that was a blatantly shameless plug. You’re Welcome.)
Right from the start, The Militia is making short work of Grayson. He gets shoved to the Devastation Reborn corner, where they tag themselves in, and they slam him down for a two count.

Grayson fights out and tags to Valor, and he uses his agility to get things started, but Stone puts a halt to that. He hits the ropes, where Talos blind tags himself in as Stone wipes out the competition on the outside. Valor feels good until the Titans make him ride the lightning.

Your Winners via Pinfall: The Titans of Calamity
As we head into an ad break, we hear from David Crockett himself about how the Crockett Cup came to be and its debut in New Orleans, LA, at the Superdome.

We come back from the break, and Kyle Davis is at the entrance with the Tag team of Sins and Grins, Izzy James and Bam Bam Malone, the current tag team champs in Texas Style Wrestling. The GutterSnake James tells the Titans to get ready to be bit in the Pit, and Malone adds they can “fee-fi-fo-fum they’re ass back to Japan.”

So this match is starting now with…
The Titans of Calamity (Jack Talos and Ren Ayabe) vs. Sins N’ Grins (Izzy James and Bam Bam Malone)
Simply put, this match will determine the true sixteenth seed in The Crockett Cup.
James and Malone take it to Ayabe and Talos. The Titans are taken aback as Malone dumps Talos out of the ring, and they work over Ayabe. This sneak attack seems to favor Sins ‘N Grins, but once they attempt stereo planchas, Talos catches James and slams him on the apron edge. He rolls him back into the ring, and the bell rings to signify that the match is now official. James tries a springboard, but Talos catches him and deadlifts him to an overhead slam. The Titans are defanging James, and Talos gives a running boot to the mush for good measure.

The GutterSnake gives a stunner to the big man and then an enzugiri to allow him a hot tag to Malone, and the Texas native goes to town as he goes en Fuego, Grinning along the way at the violence he is causing. But the rally is short-lived as Talos gives a choke slam to James, and he and Ayabe ensure Malone is sent straight down with their double choke slam to secure their spot.
Your Winners, and the Official Number Sixteen Seed in The Crockett Cup: The Titans of Calamity
Davis is in the ring with the Titans, and after welcoming Talos back in the NWA, but he asks what he thinks about facing the number one seed in The Immortals. As Talos’ editor for his column, I’m gonna let him speak:
“Let me tell you how I feel about our chances. You say they’re the 2025 Crockett Cup winners? We’re the 2025 World’s Strongest Tag Team Determination League champions. You say they’re the NWA champions, we’re the AJPW champions. They’re The Immortals, but we are the Titans of Calamity, and we’re taking that trophy home with us!”
As for Ayabe-san, he says this in his native Japanese (translated):
“I came to America to win this tournament. Everyone, don’t miss the despair that Titans of Calamity will bring you.”

NWA Women’s Television Champion Tiffany Nieves cuts a promo explaining that Gisele Shaw is not an opponent but an outsider, and she is looking at a hungry champion. La Princesa dismisses her as a peasant that’s in her way, and she will be gone.
Get it. Got it? Bueno.
After an ad break, your next match is for the…

NWA Women’s Television Championship: Tiffany Nieves (with Ms. Starr and Gretta)(c) vs. Gisele Shaw

The bell rings, and both women start off with switching wrist locks, and Nieves got the worst of that exchange. She trips Shaw up for a single-leg crab, and she escapes the submission and tells the fans she almost made her tap out. She goes for quick pins to Nieves, and she is living rent-free in her head, and then proceeds to land European uppercuts in the corner and a hip toss that almost like a judo throw.

The champ is on roller skates, and before Shaw can put her away, Starr grabs her boot to distract her. That gives La Princesa time to reset and then…
Ads (Well, I can live with it for now)
We come back from the ad break and Nieves connects with a sidewalk slam for a two count. She tries to wear her down, but the Quintessential Diva shows true grit as she nails a spinebuster in the center of the ring, and then comes out of the gate with clotheslines, followed by a powerslam for another near fall. Nieves counters with a superkick and a springboard bulldog to cover for one, two…kick out by Shaw. She comes back with a full Nelson to a slightly botched backbreaker on La Princesa, and then Shaw follows with a sitting flatliner, but the champ gets a shoulder up. She measures Nieves and signals for the Denouement knee strike, but once again, Starr interferes, allowing her to DDT Shaw. She covers, but the Diva gets a boot on the ropes. Starr pushes it off, and the ref catches her in the act and ejects her from the ringside. Nieves gets hit with a poison ‘rana and then a spear that wears both women down. From there, Shaw hits a flash Denouement, finally claiming the title.

Your Winner, And New NWA Women’s Television Champion: Gisele Shaw
Davis is in the ring to congratulate the new champion. Shaw is happy to make history, but it takes focus and determination to win the title, and declares it’s time for The Quintessential Era.
Joe Cazana addresses The Colóns ahead of their match at the Crockett Cup (which will take place this Saturday on COMET TV), and the Country Gentlemen promise to win the whole thing, and they’ll do it…By the Book.
Carson Drake is with The Wrestling Machines, Mike Mondo, and Slade as part of his new segment, “The Carson Drake Experience.” He asks if they’re ready for The Southern Six, and Slade answers that they are built differently, and they just need to tap. Mondo adds that they will kick in their teeth, and he knows what time it is. It’s Gut Check Time.
Now for the Main Event in this Opening Round Match of the Crockett Cup between…
The Immortals (Odinson and Kratos)(#1 Seed) vs. The Titans of Calamity (Jack Talos and Ren Ayabe)(#16 Seed)
Talos and Ayabe have already gone through a few teams but show no signs of wear, whereas the Immortals are fresh and hungry to make history as two-time Crockett Cup champions.
Ayabe and Kratos start, and the Nihan Giant pushes The Most Feared to the ropes and then pats his head, taking a page from fellow countryman Kazuchika Okada. Kratos is bemused and locks up again and pats his head in return, before bellowing, “Welcome to the NWA, boy!”
Ayabe has some moves, but he decides to tag Talos in to have some fun. He and Kratos are no strangers, and it is a power versus power matchup, and the chops are flying.

Splash in the corner, and Odinson tags in with Asgardian uppercuts, and he knocks down the Titan, followed by an uppercut to the back. Odinson picks up Talos in a Fireman’s, but he escapes and ties him up in the ropes and then…

Ads (hey, I need that breather, and I was there to catch the action!)
We’re back from the break, and Talos and Ayabe cut the ring in half as they turn Odinson into an Asgardian in Peril. The Titans double team with a Hart Attack variation for a pin, and Odinson kicks out. The straps are down, and Talos signals for the choke slam, but Odinson slams the big man in the center of the ring. A hot tag to Kratos and The Most Feared is full of fury as he goes on the attack of the Titans. He gives Ayabe a suplex and covers for one, two…oh, so close.

The Immortals go for their Immortality finisher, but Talos makes the save and pushes off Kratos from the top turnbuckle. They try to make Odinson ride the lightning, but he flips out and then attempts some offense, but he can’t escape another opportunity as Talos and Ayabe deliver the double choke slam finisher, and they cover for one, two, and three.
Your Winners, and Advancing in The Crockett Cup: The Titans of Calamity

This is a shocking upset as Talos and Ayabe eliminate the number one seed, so this is anyone’s tournament. For tonight, the Titans of Calamity make a statement that they are not to be trifled with as the show comes to a close.
