Ric Flair claims Dennis Rodman wanted him to serve as his WWE Hall of Fame inductor, despite the role ultimately going to others.
Dennis Rodman was inducted into the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame during WrestleMania 42 weekend, with Sean Waltman and Kevin Nash performing the induction. Speaking in a recent interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, Ric Flair said Rodman personally reached out to him ahead of the ceremony.
“Dennis Rodman called me and said, ‘Will you induct me into the Hall of Fame?’” Flair said. “I sent it to the powers that be… I never got a call back.”
Despite Not Hearing Back From WWE, Ric Flair Isn’t Holding A Grudge
Ric Flair added that while he was not selected for the role, he held no ill will toward those involved in the ceremony.
“I’m very happy for Kevin and Sean,” he said.
Rodman, a former NBA star best known for his time with the Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls, also had a notable run in WCW during the 1990s as part of the New World Order.
