A WWE Hall of Fame induction could be on the horizon for one of the most influential celebrities in wrestling history.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, WWE’s relationship with Cyndi Lauper has recently strengthened, leading to increased belief that the music icon could eventually be inducted into the company’s Hall of Fame.
The report notes that Lauper’s chances of being inducted are now higher than ever, although a Hall of Fame induction is not currently expected in 2027.
At present, the relationship between the wrestling promotion and Lauper is said to be focused primarily on licensing agreements. However, the report suggests the door is open for additional projects between the two sides in the future.
Lauper played a significant role in WWE’s expansion into the mainstream during the 1980s as a central figure in the Rock ‘n’ Wrestling Connection. Her involvement with Captain Lou Albano and appearances on WWF programming helped bring new audiences to professional wrestling during one of the industry’s most important periods of growth.
Cyndi Lauper Received Her First Official WWE Action Figure
The latest report comes just days after Cyndi Lauper received her first official WWE action figure.
Mattel Creations recently unveiled a three-pack commemorating a memorable 1984 Piper’s Pit segment featuring Lauper, Roddy Piper, and Captain Lou Albano. The collectible set is scheduled to go on sale beginning July 23.
Lauper recently reacted to the figure release and spoke positively about her time working with WWE, describing the moment captured by the set as a classic and reflecting fondly on her experiences alongside Albano and Piper.
While no Hall of Fame plans have been officially announced, the strengthened relationship between WWE and Lauper is likely to fuel further speculation that the Grammy Award-winning singer could eventually receive one of the company’s highest honours.
