Jim Ross has criticised WWE’s Hall of Fame Legacy Wing, calling it “a joke” while discussing the induction of Sid Eudy.
Speaking on his podcast, Grilling JR, Jim Ross said Sid Vicious should have been inducted into the main Hall of Fame rather than the Legacy category, and expressed sympathy for his son’s public frustration.
“If my daddy was going into the Hall of Fame, I’d want him to have the biggest presentation possible,” Ross said.
He pointed to Sid’s career achievements, including multiple world title reigns and WrestleMania main events, as reasons why he should have received a full induction.
“As far as the legacy wing, I think that’s a joke… a guy that headlined WrestleMania and was a multiple-time champion deserves to be in the regular Hall of Fame,” he added.
Sid, who passed away in August 2024, was a two-time WWF Champion and two-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, headlining WrestleMania VIII against Hulk Hogan and WrestleMania XIII against The Undertaker.
Jim Ross Believes Sid Vicious Should Have Been Inducted Into The Regular WWE Hall Of Fame Despite His Troubled Past With The Company
Jim Ross acknowledged Sid’s reputation for being difficult at times, but insisted that it should not have impacted his Hall of Fame recognition.
“He was a pain in the ass sometimes, no doubt about it. He was moody. He had a lot of pride. Some who worked with him closely may say he had too much pride because he could become a pain in the ass to work with. But does that mean he didn’t deserve to be in the regular Hall of Fame? No. He should have been in the regular Hall of Fame”
