We’re two weeks away from the Sanheim pay-per-view, and not only does Thom Latimer want to tune up for his heavyweight bout with EC3, but Chris Adonis and Zyon are vying for a spot to face the NWA National Champion, “Thrillbilly “ Silas Mason.  Can Sexy Jesus cinch in the Masterlock, or will the masked man catch Adonis in his Z Clutch?

We’ll see tonight in the main event, but first…a few words from The Overman on the handiness of steel chairs because they’re over…man.

Pick your Poison Match: Mecha Wolf (with Vampiro) vs. Yabo The Clown (with Violent J)

Basically, whoever wins the match can pick the stipulation for Samhein.  

One thing is certain, Wolf isn’t screwing around as he starts hammering away at Yabo in the corner and jaw-jacks Violent J on the outside.  Wolf is super focused and chokes Yabo using his tie.  As the ref gets him to back up, Vamp chokes Yabo until Violent J gets in his grill.  Once order is restored, Wolf goes for a series of snap suplexes and covers for a two count, and as he grabs his boot  Yabo sprays him in the face with his water flower and beats him with the same tie followed by a dropkick.  He covers for a near fall, and a thrust kick by Wolf followed by a knee strike down the Funstruction brother.  He signals that he will use Vampiro’s Nail in the Coffin and covers but Yabo kicks out.  He gets the LaRebelion member with the Eat De-feet and Vamp distracts the ref on the apron.  As J and Vamp argue while the ref tries to restore order, Bestia comes out for assistance but it backfires on the tag team.  Yabo then blows up a balloon and pops it in Wolf’s ear along with a punch, and that ends it in three.

Now the Brothers of Funstruction can pick the stipulation, and I am dying to know what they will choose at the PPV.

Kamille had a message for EC3 via X/Twitter, and she dropped some serious bon mots on The Overman.

Sam Leterna is backstage with EC3 on picking Jordan Clearwater to be his tag partner on next week’s POWERRR, he…

You know what?  We need to hear from the Heavyweight champ himself:

“You know, as the NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion, I realize there’s a target on my back at all times. I realize being a top guy in an attraction for this company has a shelf life. So I might only be on top for another five to eight years. So what I like to do is cultivate the future; look as to who is next, and in Jordan Clearwater? I see someone who’s next. I see a look. I see a presence. I see a charisma, and I see an ability.

The dude wears a cape. I cannot explain how much that means to me.

But under my tutelage, this Golden boy will become an Over…Boy.”

EC3 states he can make “The Golden Boy” Jordan Clearwater an Overboy; because he’s over…boy!

As for facing Thom Latimer, EC3 says he may have touched some nerves but that’s the person he wants facing him for the Ten Pounds of Gold, and he is ready for that challenge.  Thus spoke EC3.

Thom Latimer (with Kamille) vs. Koa Laxamana (with Kallies)

This is a very one-sided fight as Latimer tosses Laxamana around and gestures to the Hawaiian Hitman to get back up.  A couple of dropkicks and a tackle in the corner, then a monkey flip is blocked to a slam and The King of all Evil gives a series of gutwrench suplexes.  Laxamana backs in the corner and Latimer gestures to him to bring it on, only he catches him and nails him with suplex slams.  Laxamana tries to fight back but a kick is blocked to a scoop slam.  A corner splash by Latimer, and he props him up the top turnbuckle.  Laxamana blocks the superplex, shoves him off, and nails a frog splash for one count.  He rushes to the corner and Latimer gets a standing one–armed side slam (Samoa Joe, eat your heart out).  The Hawaiian Hitman manages to fire back and get Latimer up the top turnbuckle, but his huracanrana is blocked and, in an impressive display of balance and core strength, Latimer reverses to an avalanche powerbomb.  Kallies gets in the ring to defend her man, and that brings Kamille as well who promptly spears her out.  A pop-up powerbomb by Latimer mercifully ends it.

Leterna with Father James Mitchell on not just his hosting duties at Samhein, but also dealing with Sal the Pal and Gaagz the Gymp getting away from him.  Mitchell explains that night they will be in an Ultimate Hardcore Tag Team war, and he will allow Sal and Gaagz to assemble their forces. He adds that if they lose, they will sign a contract to be indentured to him for their lives. If they win, which he scoffs is unlikely, Mitchell will get on his knees and bow to them, thus setting them free. But The Sinister Minister makes sure to remind us that Samhein belongs to Max and Judais, and they have no chance.

At The Podium with Kyle Davis is Ruthie Jay and she will be facing Kenzie Paige for The Burke at the upcoming PPV. She notes that she is fresh-faced and thrilled about the opportunity.  Although Paige is the champ, she is a five-star athlete, and Jay is not worried about the Pretty Empowered “hyenas” and promises she will hold the NWA Women’s title.

(Author’s Note:  After last week, I’m debating if talking about “five stars” and matches is a good idea.  But seeing as how I just created the link means I do loves me the clicks.  So here ya go!)

Leterna has with Sal and Gaagz to talk to her and Sal is…coherent.  He says they had the sweet taste of freedom and will do anything to stay that way.  As Leterna notes this is the most lucid Sal has been, he owes it all to deep meditation, yoga, a vegan diet, plus a supplement that keeps his head on a swivel.  But it only lasts for a day, so once it wears out…well.  I can’t wait to see how this plays out because this has “meltdown” written all over it.

NWA World Women’s Television Championship: Max The Impaler (c) vs. MJ Jenkins

It’s been a while since we last saw Jenkins grace the squared circle in the NWA.  Again she is formidable in her own right, but this is the Warrior of the Wasteland that she is facing for the first time.

The match is contested under the 6:05 time, but that might as well be an eternity as Max toys with Jenkins like a cat toying with their prey.  As Max goes the kill halfway into the match, Jenkins tries to fight back with a jawbreaker and then a codebreaker.  She throws everything but the steel chair and the kitchen sink but Max does not budge.  Max swings with a Lariat and Jenkins goes Matrix on the Warrior of the Wasteland and nails a roundhouse kick.  Max is wobbly for the first time and she connects with a blockbuster to cover for a count of one.  Jenkins goes into overdrive with a knee in the corner followed by a running boot.  She goes up top for a high-risk maneuver and on the way down Max delivers a vicious lariat and she is done at 1:02 left in the match.

Leterna has the three members of the Southern Six and she gets thoughts from Mason on tonight’s main event, so I’ll let him talk:

“Ol’ Zyon needs to have a Zay-ance because Austin Idol is dead, and the only way they’re gonna be talking to him is from beyond the grave. That’s why that little granny ain’t around no more.

And Chris Adonis…Sexy Jesus, huh? You’re looking at ‘Six-y Jesus, boy!  You’re looking at the National champion, son. You’re looking at the only faction that runs the NWA. We rolled the nickels around here. We make the money. We deal the cards. The game belongs to the Six.”

“The NWA Belongs to The Six!”, says “Thrillbilly Silas Mason, alongside (from left) Kerry Morton and Alex Taylor.

Morton adds they run the NWA and extend an open invitation at Samheim.  Taylor finishes that The Southern Six is so popular, that they were offered the red carpet treatment by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but he turned them down because they do not acknowledge The Southern Six or Molly Hatchet.

(Author’s Note:  He is correct if you wanna check for yourself.  Also, who wants to start that trend to get Hatchet into the Hall of Fame?)

Joining at The Podium with Kyle Davis is Pretty Empowered. Envy and Kylie let us know that despite Natalia Markova and Taylor Rising Challenge last week, no scary Russian or “Empowered wannabe” like Rising is going to take the NWA Women’s tag team belts.

As for the NWA Women’s World champion, Kenzie Paige doesn’t care about Jay because she is a five-star champ, and when she eats her up “there will be no crumbs left.” 

Damn.

 

Now for the Main Event, and it is for the…

NWA National Title Number One Contender’s Match:  Chris Adonis vs. Zyon

As the bell rings, Adonis shoulder tackles the masked man, and then Zyon sends him to the ropes.  Adonis reverses a hip toss with his own, but he powers through and Zyon connects with European uppercuts.  He goes for a suplex, but that is also reversed by Sexy Jesus.  As he goes for his Masterlock,  Zyon quickly goes to the ropes to break the hold.  As he gars his mask to pull him back in the ring, Zyon stuns Adonis on the top rope and he comes back with uppercuts followed by a back elbow and stomps, and then a fist drop to cover for a two count.

Adonis gives a backbreaker to Zyon, and even though he gets a kick in the mush he makes the masked man eat a spinebuster.  He signals for his submission yet Zyon blocks him at every chance.  He hits the ropes and Zyon lands with a knee strike to cover for a two-count.  Now he goes for his Z Clutch, and Adonis goes to the ropes but Zyon does not let go.  After ignoring the ref’s orders, the match is called and that means…

Your Winner via Disqualification:  Chris Adonis

after the match, Zyon hightails it out of the ring, and even though Adonis is the new number-one contender for the National title, you can sense things between them will brew as the show goes to the credits.

Final Thoughts:

The promos carried the show, but the steps for the Samhein PPV were awesome to behold.  Even Adonis/Zyon looks like a potential feud in the making.
