Sol Ruca says that capturing the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship is her “defining moment.”
At WWE Clash in Italy, Sol Ruca overcame Becky Lynch to win her first title on the main roster. Although The Man took control of most of the match, Ruca was finally able to put her away after a Rock Bottom and a Sol Snatcher earned her the pinfall victory.
Speaking soon after the win on the Clash in Italy Recap, Ruca said she was an emotional mess, but “in a good way.”
“I am a mess in a good way, though. I’m just like an emotional mess, physically a mess in the best way possible.
“You know, I had a moment as soon as the bell rang, as soon as I hit my finish on Becky, where I just kind of got a little bit emotional, was a bit just like shocked and just like, ‘oh my God, like, I did it, this is my defining moment.’
Ruca said the win was the start of a new chapter in her career, but for now, she was taking time to decompress.
“This is the start of my next chapter in a sense, and yeah, just the overwhelming love and acceptance from the fans tonight was absolutely incredible. Especially being so far away from home, knowing that these people know who I am, care about me, care about my story, care about what I do.
“It’s just absolutely incredible. I still feel like I have a lot more things to just like decompress and feel out. But it has been like go, go, go ever since I got back from the curtain. But yeah, I’m feeling good.”
Sol Ruca Ensures Becky Lynch Holds Unwanted Record
Sol Ruca ended Becky Lynch’s Women’s Intercontinental Title reign at just 43 days, meaning The Man holds the record for the shortest reign in the title’s history. Previous champions AJ Lee and Maxxine Dupri held the gold for 49 days each, while Lyra Valkyria held onto the championship for 145 days.
However, Lynch can still hold her head high, as she also holds the record for the longest title reign, having held it for 163 days between June and November in 2025.
