A new champion was crowned at WWE’s Clash in Italy pay-per-view event last night.
Sol Ruca captured her first main-roster championship on Sunday, defeating Becky Lynch to win the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship at Clash in Italy in Turin. Lynch controlled much of the early action, keeping Ruca on the defensive and repeatedly targeting her challenger. Ruca eventually shifted momentum with a spectacular moonsault to the outside, followed by a dropkick that put the champion in trouble.
The match remained competitive as Lynch countered an attempted Sol Snatcher and locked in an armbar. Ruca managed to escape, but tensions continued to rise as Lynch repeatedly argued with referee Jessika Carr. At one point, Lynch shoved Carr into the ropes, causing Ruca to lose her balance and tumble from the turnbuckle.
Despite the setback, Ruca battled back. She launched herself onto Lynch with a dive to the outside before countering the champion’s attempted Sol Snatcher. Ruca then planted Lynch with a Rock Bottom for a near fall.
Moments later, Ruca connected with her trademark Sol Snatcher, scoring the pinfall victory to end Lynch’s reign.
Sol Ruca Won Her First WWE Main Roster Title In Her Pay-Per-View Debut
The championship win marks a major milestone for Sol Ruca, who was competing in her first pay-per-view match. The victory caps a remarkable turnaround after a challenging stretch that included high-profile losses to Liv Morgan and Iyo Sky, as well as an injury scare in the weeks leading up to the event.
