Gabe Kidd suffered an injury during the AEW World Trios Championship match at AEW Dynasty, with further details now confirming he will be out of action indefinitely.
Gabe Kidd was competing as part of The Dogs in a title defence against The Conglomeration, Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, and returning Kyle O’Reilly, when he was escorted backstage by medical personnel mid-match. He appeared to be favouring his arm as the bout continued without him.
The Conglomeration went on to win the titles, with O’Reilly, making his first appearance back from a months-long neck injury, submitting Clark Connors to secure the victory. According to Bryan Alvarez, Kidd is believed to have suffered a dislocated shoulder during the match, though the finish was not altered due to the injury.
Tony Khan Confirmed Gabe Kidd’s Injury
Speaking at the post-show press conference, Tony Khan confirmed Gabe Kidd’s status, revealing he will be sidelined for the foreseeable future.
“Gabe is out indefinitely. He’s injured. It’s a shoulder injury. We’ll be evaluating him. So I can’t say for sure what the injury is, but the doctors are evaluating Gabe for an injury,” Khan said.
O’Reilly acknowledged the disruption caused by Kidd’s exit, explaining how his team adapted on the fly.
“Then I was thinking in my head, all right, there’s only two of them. Now, if we don’t do this, Roddy’s gonna beat me up and never let me hear the end of it, like this was the perfect opportunity,” he said.
Cassidy added:
“But we did it, right? We did it.”
The Dogs had only recently captured the Trios titles on Collision and had been feuding with The Conglomeration in the lead-up to Dynasty.
